re: Did Denbrock call this differently or did JD just throw it?

Kelly said that he would get directly involved in calling some plays.

Yeah you would love to just create the narrative that he miraculously WOKE UP and pulled the right plays out his ase. But you’re wrong and wrong. Bm was calling plays from the field and Daniels as usual did everything that his coaches told him to do (exactly like the 5 games prior).

When did he say that? That was a good decision

Man you shouldn’t rely on shite. you’re a complete idiot. It was the play calling like every other game.

Well we sure as hell had 2 big ones when it was 3rd and 2 an it forced us to kick a FG

No way the whole passing game changes that dramatic without practicing a more wide open attack this week.
I get what you are saying, but my point was that the staff wouldn’t have stuck with it unless Daniels went out and executed it. If he had done his hold the ball routine from previous weeks, they would have adjusted and dialed everything back.

It honestly looked like the coaches told him to throw it, don’t worry about an INT
The coaches have been telling him that all year - you could read CBK’s lips.

Play calling didn’t change much.Daniels was playing too conservative after all of the turnovers he had at ASU last year he was trying to be too perfect protecting the ball. This is the type of talent he has shown in the past he just needed to regain that confidence to let it fly.

Go listen to BK on the post game presser. He said he has been on JD to quit "icing the puck" and "he has been hearing a lot from me on that."
If you watch any of the LSU podcasts and analysts they have shown this over and over every week that receivers are running free and JD has not been releasing the ball. I have been very critical on him these last few weeks for this reason and he played excellent tonight. Hopefully he has exorcised his demons whatever they were.

Practice was altered imo. Wide open attack reps with WRs. Should've been during fall camp but better late than never.

He had 300 yards passing last game also
On 45 attempts mostly within 5 yards of the LOS. Last night he had 350 on 32 attempts and was driving the ball downfield. The two performances aren’t even comparable. Some of you are clueless

The play calling was night and day better, it seemed like a completely different coach calling it. Way more quick hitters, attacking the middle of the field, there was variation in the run game, a couple sweeps and different things from the one run play we had ran all season. The play calling put JD in a much better position to be successful and he certainly took advantage of that.

The funny thing is, this game was by far the most we’ve looked like Denbrock’s offense at Cincy. It’s not all there yet, but the addition of the outside runs, more designed QB runs, and the emphasis on throwing downfield were all staples of what he did there.

Why read it when it’s in the headset

Florida not great on defense.

Even in the earlier games, he was money whenever you ABSOLUTELY needed it- Fla St drives at the end, Miss State drives to stay in it and then put the game away. More with his legs, but made a few passes too... but he would go get it done.
I guess Kelly had to convince him to just go play like he can, and not worry about messing up.

JD finally played with confidence and threw the ball to covered receivers
Posted on 10/17/22 at 4:41 am to CatfishJohn
Why though last 2 weeks he’s been a stud

I don't think Denbrock changed much. I just think everyone executed better than they have all season to this point.
I agree - they had a couple of new wrinkles but for the most part I think they ran a lot of the same stuff they have been running, which I had come to the conclusion was not the right stuff to be running with Daniels at QB - but he finally executed it so I was proven wrong - for this game anyway.

Looked like Kelly canning plays.
Which, I appreciate him realizing the playcalling wasn't up to par and stepping in.
