Les Miles won a championship at LSU. LES frickING MILES!

Kelly needs to be on the hot seat if he blows it against USCE.

I actually think he understood the level of expectation of LSU. I don't think he realized how much the fans expect for 10 million dollars in this modern landscape. Every time he loses a game or recruiting battle, people can rightfully point to his contract and say he needs to be perfect.

Realistically, having 80% of the coach of Kelly for 3 million a year and funneling the rest into NIL is probably a better recipe for success in the near future

It would have been better to give him guaranteed $3,000,000 for 5 years with $750,000 for 10 win season, $1,000,000 for SEC championship, $1,000,000 for get in playoffs and $1,000,000 for winning a national championship.

I've posted regularly about the need for moderate salary but heavily bonus structured salaries, but the reality is no coach worth half a damn is going to go for that. The market just isn't going to accept it.

I don't think Lane has proven enough to get LSU gug, but "failed miserably" is not accurate.

Tennessee
2009 - 7-6 (4-4). He then bolted for his "dream job" at USC.

Tennessee was 5-7 (3-5) in the season before Kiffin.

USC
2010 - 8-5 (5-4)
2011 - 10-2 (7-2)
2012 - 7-5 (5-4)
2013 - 3-2 (0-2) Fired and left on tarmac

USC jumped gun and fired him early even though he was dealing with sanctions on recruiting.

He came from Notre Dame, which has 11 national championships. I’m sure he understands the expectations.

BK understood one thing.....800K per game to coach...regardless of performance. He can show up with his dick hanging out and collect his check.....He is either way over his head or just doesn't give a shite. The talent level of the defense and rb room is unacceptable. Dude struggles with talent evaluation.

he doesn't need to be perfect, but he needs to be a hell of a lot better than he is in year 3 here.

The troubling thing is that do you guys think we will be better next year? We have a good class coming in but they will be freshmen.....we lose 80% of our OL. We are not trending in the right direction. His, judge me in year 3 bs is already stale.

Yale hasn’t made it to the Championship game, or been ranked in the top five recently.

This is such a dumb arse question. Of course he knew the level of expectations. He was hired to replace two national championship winning coaches. He came here for two reasons, and probably in no particular order 1) Money 2) To win a national championship

Now, is he "over his head" - maybe. He hasn't shown he can continuously get the team up and ready for big games.

These high level coaches believe they are the greatest thing to ever exist. No doubt in my mind Kelly thinks/thought he will come here and get his D1 title with tall the toys he was not privy too in South Bend.

And as an added bonus, Kelly is 2-0 against LSU in his career.

I dont think he understands the magnitude of waiting to fire coaches for recruiting impacts. Doesnt understand you need to pay players for NIL.

There needs to be a sense of urgency to win and I just havent seen it last season and so far this season.

So, he’s basically Coach O! Sounds like another Natty to me!

What?.
Just needed to replace "O".
Mission accomplished. Fans were happy. Kelly was happy. Orgeron was happy. Oh, and Pellini was happy.
