They never said anything about any of the homers this weekend and I’d love to have the numbers on that particular one.

The NCAA doesn’t allow teams to collect trackman data in the post season.

Why? What would that affect? Seems like a stupid rule.

Unfortunately, the NCAA does not allow us to collect data during postseason play. So no Trackman information this weekend.

Trackman is turned on so that ESPN can get those numbers and post them on TV in real time. However, we are not allowed to collect the data ourselves.

That’s strange. The data was shown live in the Tennessee game I watched.

Makes no sense not to allow it

The fact that they let them put the pitch speed on the scoreboard is allowed though

My guess is because trackman registers more than just exit velos and launch angles, which theoretically could give the home team collecting the data a competitive advantage.

And ESPN didn’t even post it. Typical ESPN BS screwing up a good thing

The NCAA won't allow tracking during the postseason for some reason.

While probably true, the home team could just be required to release that info to all teams to cure that "advantage"

I kept waiting for the tired, unfunny "That baseball had a family" post from some edgy Twitter user, but I didn't see one.

However, I haven't seen a ball destroyed like that in a while.

They showed the data on screen during the Stanford A&M game, so makes no sense why we couldn't see ours.
