They did not play Neck while I was there (into 4th). Students just got their own STTDB chant going on their own.

A determined group of students worked to get it started. It wasn't related to the band's song.

What? Neck IS a song. Sttdb is something juveniles say during a song. Usually neck, but since it's no longer played, now they do it during other songs.
This phenomenon does not, in fact, make another song become Neck.

i was there in the north endzone the whole game, and this is true... what was left of the student section kept chanting "neck" to the band. although the band didn't play it some of the students went with the sttdb chant on their own. (I watched the tv replay last night and you can hear it rather clearly on the broadcast.)

ESPN panned over to the student section while they were singing it, but I don't remember if the band was actually playing it.

Later Scott Van Pelt said he wanted the band to play "Neck" and he would pay the fine. It was awesome.

I didn’t hear Neck, but I did hear the students chanting STTDB. Those two things don’t always go together.

I sit in NEZ and stayed the whole game.
TGBFT did NOT play Neck
the students did request neck repeatedly from TGBFT
TGBFT still did NOT play Neck
the students did "Boo" the band for songs played that were not Neck
and
the students applied the STTDB chant to another song

The students were saying STTDB while the band was playing "Right Above It" by Lil Wayne.

I love the song (as played by the band) and energy that goes with it. I kind of wish there was a compromise with the students to change the lyrics so it wasn't vulgar but still got the crowd into it. I know I'll get downvoted for it, but it would be a good way to improve the experience for those at the games with family.

Was at the game and heard it and watched the replay last night. It happened right after Ole Miss Scored their touchdown late in the third quarter and like the poster said above, the band was playing “Right Above It” by Lil Wayne.

Might as well play Neck...The students can insert that phrase into any song they want to.
