I have. He was an a-hole. Not John Brady level a-hole, though.

The more I learn about life in general, I honestly think Saban is an Aspy (Asperger's Syndrome).

As for Emmert, total diva. Emmert is also going to protect Bama and their cheating at all costs.

If given the choice, I would much rather take Saban over Miles any day. You definitely have the choice. $12 and a trip to Wal-Mart will make Saban "your" coach. I say go for it.

luv it, never heard it, luv it.
walmart $12!!! become a saban fan today!

Some of you goofballs really care about a coach's personality. Why? You ain't hanging out with him. Apparently his personality is perfect for being a college football coach.

Almost got in a wreck with him on campus 2000. Gave him the bird. He did the same. Sat by him at 2 TAF banquets and he was a miserable frick. Met his wife and she was nice. They did a TAF party at their house and she was cool.

I played golf with him a couple of times at University Club. He is a nice guy, he is just very intense. He wants to do everything he can at the top level.
He is also a historian of the game and likes to talk about it compared to what he is currently doing or the current sesaon.
Him and Emmert where an absolute prefect fit for LSU at the time. Emmert is a people person and a super nice guy. They balanced each other well.
Mark Emmert did just sa much for LSU football as Nick Saban in my opinion

Are you suggesting Craig Steltz physically resembles Saban? They're both white, and that's it.

Sister's in law (not at the time) babysat for mon a few times. He never interacted with them.

Walked his dog wearing a turtleneck in the summer. I saw it myself.

False. If he gets to the title game, FSU or Oregon will rail them. Bama is not that good this year. They're living on the hype.

Met him and his wife when Alabama played in the Indy Bowl. He and his wife were actually very nice and down to earth.

1998 or 1999 Big Ten media day and the coaches are assembled for the coach picture that features every head coach in the league. The entire luncheon is supposed to start at 11:30. Every coach is there on time except Saban. 15 minutes later he finally arrives. Joe Paterno leans over and says with no joking intended, "Do you try to be an a--hole?"

I would think that most famous people when out in public are generally much different than their "professional" appearance shows. Les is probably one of the few that is the exception. Let's just say they both win at the top level and just go about their lives in totally different ways. I for one wouldn't want Saban back....(unless we revert back to what we were before he came)

Heard two stories about him
One when he told someone how much he paid for his dress shoes
The other when he went ballistic about the lightning monitoring system during one practice

Saban is the type of guy who would have been successful at anything he does. He doesn't cut corners and gets the job done. It is probably hard for him to keep up his intensity when he is already the best in the business.
