Next Bammer that says something like that, just ask them what time it will forever be in Tuscaloosa and walk away (9 to 6).

Did Alabama outplay LSU ?
LSU had 239 total yards on the day, Bama had 295. Each team had 11 drives in the game. So

LSU averaged 21.7 yards per drive.
The Tide averaged 26.8 yards per drive.

So Bama gained about 5 more yards than LSU per drive. Not exactly an overwhelming advantage

Bama only had 2 more first downs than LSU.

I'd say the game was pretty even - we just excelled in special teams and they did not and it proved to be the difference in the game.

Football keeps many stats. "Outplayed" is not one of them. In the end, there is only one stat. that matters.

If outplay = :

Less rushing yards
Less TFL
Less points

All at home. Then yes, Bama outplayed us.

It was a game of field goals and Alabama had more shots at making them than LSU did

Sweet. Next time, they can just line up for the field goal as soon as they take their first kickoff.

Trying to kick the ball from outside your kicker's range is not a shot at making a field goal. 80 yards or 50 yards, if your kicker is unable to make the kick, it is not an opportunity. It's stupid coaching.

You're delusional, though, if you think LSU outplayed Alabama.

Then I'm delusional! LSU outplayed Bama. I'm not saying that just because LSU had more points. If they got more because of a fluke I might say Bama outplayed them.

Bama had some intitial success moving the ball because of breakdowns probably due to excitable kids playing in a huge game. By the second half LSU was controlling BOTH lines of scrimmage. That's why Bama was reduced to halfback passes, shovel passes, and finally praying that LSU would again not cover Richardson on that wheel route.

LSU got the ball in OT and simply ran the ball down Bama's throat. At that point Bama knew they were beat. If they played another half that night, Bama would have lost by 30.

To Gump: Alabama outplayed LSU huh? I guess Saban got out coached then?

Saban is God to them. Either they got out coached or they didn't out play LSU, which is it. Ask them that.

Hell, just ask them how they lost and run with whatever they say. Give them the rope and then just agree with them.

I would respond to any bama fan that say this that you agree that bama outplayed LSU and it is the only logical explanation as to why LSU didn't blow them out. That should shut them up.

If LSU was outplayed, Bama would have dominated the 4th quarter and OT.

LSU won because they did what LSU (and Bama, to everyone else) has done all year...take control of the game late, wear the other team down, then settle the issue.

How many field goal attempts did they even try in regulation?

Does attempting out of range field goals count as scoring opportunities?

I am not saying bama outplayed LSU. My statement was when a bama fan says LSU was outplayed instead of arguing with them just agree and say "yeh had LSU outplayed bama we would have blown them out"

I had a bama tard straight up tell me (yesterday): "Ya'll didn't win. We beat ourselves." I just laughed at him and asked him how many plays did they have in our red zone. He knew the answer and responded with the number of field goals they missed. I asked him why they weren't kicking those from closer? NO ANSWER. I asked him how long were our field goals. He knew the answer. I asked him why we kicked from closer. NO ANSWER.

They know the truth in the bottom of their hopeless, gutless souls. Eventually, they will have to face it:

Yes, but only between the 30's and on offense. LSU outplayed them on special teams and execution on defense in the red zone.

I understand. That's not directed at you personally. It's simply my overall view of the game.

I don't even give the "LSU was lucky" or "LSU was outplayed" folks the time of day, outside of saying, "I'm sorry, what's LSU's record again? Have a great day."
