Right. It's the benefit of being a regular. The restaurant isn't going to upset the large group that shows up 12-13 times a year to accommodate the smaller group that will never go back.

i think the funniest part is Don(the LSU fan) went there after a wedding, in which he had a LSU hat on.

The thing I dont get.... the guy said they were refused because he was wearing an LSU hat. But they were a party of 20 coming from a wedding. The establishment said they could dine there. So if he hadnt been wearing his hat, would they have been sat, and then if they were watching the game and started cheering for LSU, would they have been asked to leave? What if only one of the 20 was an LSU fan?

What if they werent LSU fans but just cheered against Florida?

Idk, Nick sounds stupid

Id assume he put it on over the wedding and possibly specifically because of the game

They almost seem like they want some Yelp, Tripadvisor and Urban Spoon reviews from Tiger fans.

Yeah, I was reading initially wondering how the frick the guy knew he was an LSU fan anyway, coming from a wedding and all, and then I saw the hat part, and just thought, of course.

I've been there before, food was ok, I certainly won't miss it. Captain Dave's on the Gulf is much better. All Louisiana customers should avoid them forever. Post this all over social media.

Question, if some business can be sued/fined etc. for denying sevice to a Gay couple, how can they get away with denying service to someone just because of the hat he's wearing? I'm sure it was a very nice hat as well!

Think it would have been even funnier if he just said ok, left the building, and went around back and just stared in through the window while watching them eat.

Makes ya wanna go and order, eat, then start cheering for LSU to see if they stick ya with the bill or kick you out.

I mean, let's be honest, this is a wedding in Destin. I bet the whole town of Krotz Springs (or whatever shitty, backwoods, drive thru town they're from) showed up for the festivities.

From yelp:

quote:

Went to watch LSU/Gator game and were told LSU fans were not welcome.
Only Gator fans in their restaurant. We left as did a lot of others. Went back after game and were physically turned away at the door (in our winning LSU gear).
We will never go to this restaurant again after such terrible behavior and will spread the word far and wide.

And the response from the manager:

quote:

The story is indeed terrible....if true. You were informed the Emerald Coast Gator Club have reserved the entire restaurant for a watch party, about 150 Gators have RESERVED the entire restaurant for their home games to watch as a club, this was a reservation, and their only request.......NO COMPETING SCHOOLS ALLOWED IN THE RESTAURANT DURING THEIR GAMES. We fulfill that request . I am personally a Seminole, but I realize when they donated over $31,000 in scholarships from these watch parties, I understand. Sorry you cannot understand that.

So the group of people that pay a lot more and go there more consistently got their way. Not sure why this is an issue.

That would have been fine, but the rest of the letter made it read like LSU fans are never welcomed because of some past behavior which is ludicrous.

No problem...

We make reservations for 25 or 30 people show up with LSU T shirts under dress shirts. Order Drinks Appiterzes, dinner, then take off out dress shirts
