really don't get him not waiting until May.

The running back job is open. If he blows up in the spring he could grab it.

Yeah, Orgeron was such a defensive and recruiting savant.

I mean, recruits don’t always work out. In both Davis and Ryan’s cases, both their careers are too young to call them disappointments.

Agreed, they were good enough that the coaching staff found ways to get them on the field. Even if it's not their natural positions.

Get used to this. We will always lose 9-10 kids to the portal it’s just college football now. He will go somewhere back up north I’m sure closer to home like Penn State. He should stay at RB though. He’s a big kid and fast too, he could be a very good RB.

can't really kill Orgeron for that.
Who should we aim for since we can't fault the career D head coach, QB coach, trainers..... ?

I figured he was going to leave. Just finished his 2nd year and couldn't find a way to get on the field. I wouldn't be surprised if he lands at Penn St.

I mean every team has 5 star busts? Saban does at Bama, it happens.

Covid year. I bet if you looked into it that 2021 class was all fricked up recruiting wise. No camps etc…

I don't blame him. He just didn't pan out at safety and he would have been way down the chart at RB.

Good luck to him.

Really odd that we signed two top 5 safeties in 2021 (both top 100 nationally) with Davis and Ryan, and neither really seemed to live up to their recruiting rankings.

Sage Ryan is too small to play DB at LSU. He gets picked on in coverage over and over. It’s not that he’s always in bad position, the athletes are too big for him at this level, and will be at the NFL level too.

Davis didn’t even play enough to get a grade, but I feel like he was a tweener that never really popped.

That’s weird; when he couldn’t get on the field at S we went out of the way to give him carries. Should inspire some loyalty

The guy is from freaking Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are always waiting with open arms for Louisiana players to transfer back closer to home. Maybe he saw writing on the wall and decided he wanted to be closer to home. Idk if thats where he'll end up but Pitt isnt a bad football program to play for.

Another of a long line of O's checkered busts based on his evaluations. Most of his later classes don't even exist on LSU's roster anymore. Signed 2 top 100 players in the country not positions players in the top 100. and both were busts at S. Great job O.
