no, they're mad because this is a slippery slope that could transform college sports to basically a pro league

Then the coaches should have to be chemistry professors, there should be no commercials, no sponsor signs at the venues, no Bank One Drive Summary on the radio broadcast, no Capital One Cup for the all-sports standings, it should be the Peach Bowl instead of the Chik Fil A Bowl.

The "love of the game" model is long dead. It's a billion dollar business except the people who are the actual product have restrictions imposed on them that would be ridiculed if they were proposed in any other industry or any other aspect of college life.

There are going to be some athletes that stay in school longer because they make more money in endorsements in college than they will going pro.

I hope for the sake of all student athletes that they understand that they will have to pay taxes on their earnings.

Not like the good ole days when you got paid $100k under the table but didn't have to pay taxes.

I'm happy for them especially those athletes from poorer inner cities. They can help provide for their families while they are in college.

Just God LSU, make an income taxes for athletes class a required course for all LSU athletes.

I doubt that

But it might make the marginal guys that are very good college players but have slim NFL prospects think twice before leaving after 3 years

I see it as more of a headache for the coaches as the egos may get a bit more out of hand. I always thought it would be best to have the money go in an account and they only have access to so much of it until they either leave school or go pro.

And then some business will open up a loan program to those with big accounts and just make money off it. That would be pointless.

I wrote a paper in college about how college athletes should be paid and the professor gave me a B- because he didn’t agree with my opinion…

But he was a Gump

And you know some poor kid would get suckered into an outrageous interest rate because he didn't know better too.

I do think college sports are on the downslope, and within 25 years will be all but almost dead

Rising prices, NiL, transfer portal, etc is just a lot of steps moving it to be like minor leagues. We will be in a similar euro pro sports model sooner than later

Having said that, I hold no ill will towards stingley or any other player for taking advantage of the new rules

Great for Stingley, but I feel like a company called Walk-Ons should have signed a deal with Josh Williams, no?

I am so happy these guys are making bank! Hopefully they will very soon start getting a salary from the colleges that they make a fortune for. These overpaid college coaches need a pay decrease and I can hardly wait.

I’m happy that they’re able to make money off their likeness, but I don’t need to get on here and hear about every single deal that gets made.

Who is everyone? The coach? The AD?

Who are all of these people that get rich off of college kids?

As long as the companies doing the paying out of these contracts add a play clause I’m good with whatever. If a player gets paid for this season then he/she should play the entire season including post season.
