Why can’t the greats of St Bernard Parish just be in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame?
Chalmette High= 0 team state championships. In anything. Ever. Boys or girls.
We literally honored and paraded around two football teams from our past that 1. Lost in the state semifinals, and 2. Didn’t even make the fricking state playoffs

You give that title so freely. So now secretaries are called "coach"?

Wow I know 4 inductees personally.
Rick Mocklin - long time horse racing announcer at Jefferson Downs and then several other tracks then turned jockey agent. You can see his band play around da parish.
BooBoo Clark - long time jockey that’s won several graded stakes races.
Jerry Pellegrini - the boxing barber who used to cut my hair in the 90s.
Roland Barbay- a known name among well at least older LSU fans. His little sister was in the same grade as my sister (Roland is good bit older than his sister I’m thinking 10 or 12 years) when he was with the Seattle Seahawks, he sent me some Seahawks stuff.
All four are good people.
The whole list isn’t overly impressive.

I’ve never seen a group of people more jealous of a dude than this group of ranters and Pomansky...

The whole list isn’t overly impressive.

Not that I'd ever view St Bernard Parish as some beacon of Louisiana parishes, but it just dropped another notch.
Still has Rocky and Carlo's and Point a la Hache I guess.

Can you imagine other SEC coaches talking about their ex radio host hire like Ed O does? Or even having one on staff?
How many of those same coaches would be talking about their national championship?
I don’t know about Derek’s qualifications, just saying.

You laughed at the idea that Burrow would never have come here and O wouldn’t be coach, but is that not true? Before the great 2019 season the hatred for DP was because he helped saddle us with O.

O doesn’t get the job and Burrow does not come here..
The options were Jimbo, Herman and maybe Scott frost. Maybe the guy who got fired from UNC and Colorado.
All of them passed on Joe.
Sorry that, that hurts your feelings

I umpired a high school game there recently. I went inside the building and all the photos are hanging. It was unbelievable the amount of people in this "hall of fame."

Lighten up, Susan, I’m sure your husband enjoys the shite we give Ree.
Now, can anyone tell me what he did to be inducted into any sort of HOF? Serious question, I have no clue.

Call it what you want, but a guy with his background should not be around a multi million dollar program at a state institution. Especially now with the huge black eye surrounding athletics. Do I think convicted felons deserve a second chance, absolutely. The gripe is that most other assistants to the head coaches have many more skins on the wall than DP does. Saban had Butch Jones, Sean Payton has a guy that’s worked his way up in the organization for a decade. I mean more power to him for finding someone to pay him 6 figures to the programs weather vane on Tigerdroppings.
