Sloan is the most obvious choice. I'm not sure how his offensive philosophy (see LA tech 2019-21) melds w/ BK's scheme.

I think there’s a board for this

I think Sloan could be great, but he’s a risk where Denbrock was as safe as they come. We’re in a tough spot bc if we don’t promote Sloan he probably leaves. If Denbrock and Sloan are gone, I bet Underwood doesn’t come. Don’t envy CBK….

Sloan is a huge risk. He did not set the world on fire as a play caller at Tech. As far as Underwood he may go to BAMA regardless if Sloan is here or not. BK has his hands all up in the offense so I am less worried about the OC hire. We need to concentrate on firing and hiring on the defensive side of the ball.

It’s Canada.
Matt had a hand in getting Swann to transfer here.
Better skill set for his offense.

Sloan is Underwood’s recruiter, so keeping him on board would be big. Also, Bama signed the #1 or 2 QB in the country this signing period, so hopefully that gives him a good reason not to go there.

Sloan was elevated to co-offensive coordinator in 2019, and Louisiana Tech went 10-3 with the No. 2 offense in the conference behind quarterback J’Mar Smith and the Bulldogs signed the No. 1 recruiting class in Conference USA. Holtz has always been heavily involved in offensive playcalling, running similar systems for decades as he won 152 games across stops at four schools. But those in the program started to see modernization as Sloan took on more control.
Yes, Holtz kept his hand in playcalling, but Sloan ran all the meetings and created most of the gameplans. Louisiana Tech started using more NFL concepts and changing little nuances to keep up with the times. . . “He was super creative offensively,” Anthony said. “That Skip gave him that trust — Skip’s been around college football long enough to know what works and what doesn’t — for him to give Joe the keys, it’s kind of telling to what Joe is offensively in terms of creativity and doing some cutting edge stuff.”
