LSU had a Texas Tech level defense with top 10 defensive talent. That is reason alone to fire Bo.

It’s not baffling st all. The Heisman candidate turned the ball over three times in the first half giving us 10 points and preventing Florida from getting points. The same Heisman candidate had a 64.9 QB rating and failed repeatedly to rally his team in the fourth quarter and score a TD.

I never thought I’d see a team underperform its talent than the 2013 offense we had against Ole Miss. That 2013 game Ole Miss was missing like 8 starters. We had Mett, OBJ/Landry and Hill with NFL at OL too and lost.

This Mullen team is such a fraud. Lol

Some people still wanna keep Pelini after the UF game

I am not a Pelini fan but he did not have much time to change to a completely different way of playing defense

This was the unit that played vs Mizzu

5 star safety Stevens
4 star safety Harris

5 star CB Stingley
5 star CB Ricks

4 star LB Clark
Jabril Cox FCS 2 time All American

4 star DE Ojulari
3 star #2 JUCO DE Gaye

4 star DT Logan
3 star DT Farrell

The starting unit had 3 5 stars and 3 4 stars that were top 160 overall recruits. Most of the backups in the front 7 were top 130 overall recruits and several were top 100 overall recruits. Two of the 3 backup safeties were top 130 recruits.

LSU has tons of talent

That's why you don't. Aranda didn't completely change what we were doing his first year. He tweaked it with some of his stuff and utilized what we had. Bo? All he did was say, "well, we don't have the type of guys for a 4-3 so we'll suck". How does a guy running a 3-4 hybrid come in and immediately produce at a place that hasn't run anything close to a 3-4 in forever, yet a guy running 4-3 can't adapt for us not to be the worst defense in our history and in college football this year?

Sure we had stuff going against it, but talent was here, and all he had to do was tweak what we were already running, but like they say with old dogs...

You can't be God awful and just blame it on covid and players leaving. That's bullshite and shouldn't fly at a place like LSU.

I don't disagree with you at all but to be fair to any coach that would have come in this season would have been tough. Look at Leach at State. They have struggled offensively

How many 1st or 2nd rd picks on that depth chart?

One that is draft eligible, and that’s not even a given

Star ratings are meaningless when you already know what a player is.

Total Defense Ranking: 121st

I know this defense is bad, but is that number being affected by the fact that we played more games than the average team? I don’t know how it’s calculated. Is it total yards over the course of the season, or average yards per game?

Before or after Bo butchered the defense?

Relative to the talent

Meh - the game has changed.

The 1993 defense was some kind of bad - production, points, you name it - and that was an era where most SEC teams played defense first, offense second.

Considering that, it is pretty impressive that the record is 4-5 and one play from being 5-4 But also one shoe toss from being 3-6

The special teams have been very good and offense pretty solid considering the youth and inexperience.
