Win one more game this week and I'd say we have a bid locked up.

ell who do you have in between
Miss St, LSU, Kentucky, A&M?

I think State and A&M are in and UK/LSU are bubbles. UK has played Ark, Aub, USC, UGA, and UF this year who are all still alive in the tournament. With an RPI of 25, it's likely to either stay there or go up as those teams win. Them missing out would be similar to LSU missing in 2011. I have them slightly over us. So this comes down to if you think the SEC gets 11 teams in, which is possible, but like I said, as the at large spots shrink, LSU would be outside looking in.
ETA: And I could be wrong, but yesterday I didn't think a single win got us in because it was assumed we would lose the next two. That will now be UF and either USC/Ark. Two neutral site losses, even to high RPI teams, may not get us in the 30s.

Gotcha. A few sites have 11 SEC teams right now. That’s obviously assuming chalk for most if not all of the tournaments.

Kevin Anderson, University of Maryland, College Park; Big Ten Conference.
Whit Babcock, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; Atlantic Coast Conference.
Dave Blank, Elon University; Colonial Athletic Association.
Mike Buddie, Furman University; Southern Conference.
Joe Karlgaard, Rice University, Conference USA
Ben Shove, Northeast Conference; Northeast Conference.
Scott Sidwell, University of San Francisco; West Coast Conference.
Ray Tanner, University of South Carolina, Columbia; Southeastern Conference.
Steve Robertello, California State University, Fresno; Mountain West Conference
Chris Del Conte; Texas Christian University; Big 12 Conference

Road wins is the the only thing holding the RPI back right now. And what’s funny is they could completely make that the talking point who knows.
Group 1 Wins
SOS
Conference record
LSU is fine in all of those categories.

South Alabama is leading Georgia Southern right now in a game between two Sunbelt bubble teams. Both are teams we don't want to win their tournament, but at least for today, I'm pulling for South Alabama.
We can use every additional opponent win we can get for RPI purposes.

You still think St is ahead of us even though we beat them 3/4 and finished ahead of them in the standings (by tie breaker)?

I was going to wait till Thursday or Friday, but I might dig into bubble teams this afternoon. That way we can compare resumes.

UCF just got eliminated from their conference tournament.
I wouldn't mind Tulane picking up another win in that tournament before getting bounced. They play East Carolina today.

UCF is squarely on the bubble

Today's loss looks like it dropped them right behind us in the RPI. We're at 39 right now on Warren Nolan.

Does warren Nolan keep up with RPI in real time? I've been looking on the NCAA site (which I'm assuming is the official RPI) but it updates once a day.
Posted on 5/23/18 at 11:37 am to oOoLsUtIgErSoOo
Yes they seem to be updating at least every few hours. 41 after we won, 40 when Mizzou lost, and now 39 jumping UCF after their loss today.
Posted on 5/23/18 at 11:39 am to oOoLsUtIgErSoOo
I think it updates each time a game goes final. I know we were 40 to start the day and 39 now. We still need help from bubble teams losing, our opponents winning, and conference chalk to push us over the edge.
I think we need at least one more win in Hoover to feel safe.

UCF is hanging on tightly to a weekend sweep of Florida back in early March. Seems like that is inflating their RPI based on other results in their season.

I will be updating important games, as well as posting a deeper look at bubble teams this afternoon. There is a lot going on today, compared to yesterday, and I'm not about to try to do it all from my phone. I'll have the laptop again after lunch.

Kind of surprised to see the Big 12 has the #2 Conference RPI behind the SEC. Seems like if they are #2 then theres a pretty sizable gap between the SEC and everyone else. Doesn't hurt that we beat the Big 12 Champion in a series earlier this year. LSU belongs in the field even if we do go 0-2 over next couple days.

There is. You will see when I post the numbers later, but the SEC absolutely deserves 11 teams. And LSU should easily be one of them.
The only thing that keeps them out is the committe just not wanting to put that many SEC teams in. Then it just becomes what they want to use as their excuse. If the excuse is conference record Kentucky is out. If the excuse is RPI LSU is out.
Of the bubble teams LSU is honestly at the top of the list when it comes to everything except RPI.
