Thomas alone would have eaten up their entire NIL budget last season

Just don't engage with him, he's a moron. Program lands a top 10 portal player and this thread is still full of bickering from those people because they can't stand the sight of anything good happening with the program. They'd rather the program crumble just to say they were right.

We've known for a few weeks now (while he has continuously refused to believe it) that LSU was drastically stepping up in the NIL game for men's basketball, and this just proves that. Though I'm sure he'll still say it's all a lie being pushed by the LSU athletic department.

Still won't make much of a difference in the W/L column. We've seen enough of McMan to know this

Are better players going to light a fire in him or will he still stand there like a cuck and show zero enthusiasm?

Lets see who else they can land. They went 9-9 in conference last season with their leading scorer shooting 38.5% from the field.

It remains to be seen what will happen next season, but keep attacking the portal and the more optimistic I will be.

It's interesting that you two are agreeing now.

I've had discussions with both of you and CP3, you've been saying NIL is $8+mil and Jim has been saying there is no way it's close to 8mil - just more NIL this year.

Have y'all come to an agreement?

Btw, I said earlier in the thread, this is a good get, no bones about it.

I think the write up on the front page said he was the #4 ranked transfer portal guy by one site and #7 or 8 by another.

I assumed we would potentially double our NIL for basketball in the $4-5M range, but now there have been reports of ~$8M

I've always said north of $5M, I think other SEC programs (the top NIL spenders) will approach if not surpass $8M.

At least that's what has been reported, though I would say LSU seems to be gearing up to well surpass that $5M number with what Thomas seemingly cost.

Am I wrong to be skeptical that this news broke on April Fool's Day?

Modern basketball is quite literally the sport where single players make differences in W/L. NBA coaches are mostly interchangeable these days.

Let’s operate in this reality that the AD is pushing.

Who’s fault is it that we were running a poverty program?

Just for clarity, this is a direct quote from you during previous discussions:
quote:

The men's basketball roster is expected to be around $6-8M next year, though that number will probably fall on the high end if all goes as planned. The money is already raised, it's in the bank.
I hope we get all the players CoachMc wants, but it's difficult to have solid exchanges when the "facts" keep changing.

So today it is $5mil, maybe some more for LSU /or/ is it still $6-8mil already in the bank?

"North" of $5M, meaning more than five, which six to eight would definitely qualify as. If my math is right.

If I said LSU had already raised $6-8M then I'll stand by that. If it really means that much to you I'm sure I can go find specific dates, but weeks ago (as Shea says in the tweet) he originally reported that LSU would keep McMahon and up their NIL, to around $5M. A few weeks later it was reported that LSU had fundraised and had landed "north of $5M," and that number was $6-8M.

Which I do believe if more than five, again, if my math is correct.

McMan will never win here. Its crazy our fans are buying what Woodward is selling after watching him the past 3 years

Regardless, you said in the bank. Now it's we could reach that. Do you not understand how those are conflicting statements?
