You mean taking different quotes from another discussion and conflating them with this story? Even though we have no idea what was spent on this guy or what the total will be making your entire argument irrelevant in the first place?

No one outside of pundits fed info from the AD is reporting numbers anywhere close to that

It’s nice that Madking has all his minions to defend him.

I’m talking about receipts of the shite Madking’s been spewing on here ever since they announced the increased NIL for LSU MBB

Seriously guys, last year’s team was not going to win anything. We could’ve been coached by Pearl, Barnes, Oats, it doesn’t matter.

I call bullshite. Any of those three coaches would have at least gotten that mediocre LSU roster into the tournament as a 10 or 11 seed/play-in game. They wouldn't have done shite once they got there, but they could've made it.

Oh of course because there are no receipts furthering your narrative that 5million would be low to low-average in the SEC

Like I’ve asked multiple time PLEASE find me non LSU sources for this.

So your argument was that I said we wouldn’t sign any players. You really should let the butt hurt go, your feminine disposition causes you to say stupid things.

Yeah I don’t think anyone EVER said that we wouldn’t drop bags this year.

In fact everyone thought Scott had just the right combination of idiocy and pride to go crazy with money to prove himself right for firing Wade and hiring McMahon

Sane people just thought it was wasting millions and delaying further the inevitable

You miserable fricks. It doesn't matter what McMahon does, how good a guy he gets, he's just not your boy so y'all are gonna shyt on his parade. I truly am convinced so many of you are wishing for LSU to lose out so you can say, "see I told you."

It’s a straw man, he’s reaching. Calling the story a scam and correctly pointing out some of the absurd numbers people have posted doesn’t mean we weren’t going to use NIL this summer and he knows that but just like his first couple posts in this thread he’s trying to spread the lie and a couple posters bit so he’s done his job. This is how that group operates, they’re poison.

I’m talking top 10 portal class though at least. A 7-8 SEC win team would be depressing in year 4

FWIW on3 had us as the #12 transfer portal class and we went 3-15 in the SEC.

Let’s also not forget that as far as total recruiting goes we were #13 nationally and #4 SEC. I know most on here don’t watch press conferences, but year 2 offseason going into year 3, McMahon harped nonstop on how strong this recruiting class was.

Yet, when we start sucking, a narrative comes out that we had low NIL numbers and can’t compete with other teams in the SEC. It makes no sense. There is a disconnect somewhere. I think the NIL narrative is bullshite and I think anyone who closely follows MBB will tell you as much.

Winning fixes everything. Unfortunately, last 3 years and last year especially, there hasn’t been much of that after running a consistent winner out of town. I’ll reiterate some sentiment shared here. I hope I’m wrong. I’m impressed by the get and am hopeful. History suggests it might all be for naught considering McMahon’s body of work to date.

The most knowledgeable posters on this board for Men's Basketball said that even with NIL, we would not get anyone that teams like KY and Florida wanted, because of our coach. When I tried to correct them, that it was really all about money for these guys and no loyalty anymore....they told me I didn't understand basketball.

You will also hear that we had just as much talent as the rest of the league this year, and that team's from other conferences spent less than us on NIL and were successful...that it wasn't NIL. Well the St. Johns of the world didn't play a star studded SEC schedule, so of course their record was going to be nice....what happened in the tourney though? Seems people don't really care about advancing far into the tourney...just getting there. A participation trophy if you will. See Will Wade.

There was no way we were competing last year without a rim protector and PG. We could play close games, but weren't winning against more talented teams, due to lack of PG, rim protector, and depth. Losing Reed and Ward early on hurt us...but we were never going far with Sears. This is a huge pick up...as well as retaining Reed was huge. Now let's add the pieces.

Maybe they wanted him as a piece of the puzzle or a roster guy and LSU assure him of significant playing time

The team results, pushing for NIL funding, picking the right balance of players, dealing with injuries, developing players, selecting lineups, coaching on the floor, displaying leadership on tge sideline, as well as dozens of other things are required by the head coach. So far, McMahon and his backers have given us the worst team in the SEC over the past 3 years. He has underperformed the recruiting and transfer portal rankings. I think this is more on him than poor rankings.

I hooe he does better this year, but there is nothing in his resume suggesting he is a championship caliber coach. I think that he will continue to produce poor to mediocre results even with more NIL funding. It is what it is.

We all forget LSUs best player by far got hurt beginning of season this year and was out for the year, Jalen Reed.

He basically was the foundation to the team and would have changed the team 100% if he had played in SEC play.

With him coming back and adding guys like Thomas to surround him, I expect success next year.
