I don’t think it’s universal or as broad as you do but there are definitely specific areas where you’d better be absolutely sure the player can exist away from home. L.A. and the Miami area are probably the biggest examples but it is certainly a thing.

Not ignoring, just saying to be fair. You mentioned national title winning QBs and had a sentence about transfers from out of state.
I agree it's stupid to disregard out of state high school players.

Partially agree... I think you mean HS signees outside of the SEC footprint. They rarely pan out at LSU.
Womack, Shanklin, Jaxon Howard, Markway, McGowan, Corey Kiner, Jeremiah Hughes, etc.
Over the past 5-6 years, Garrett Dellinger and Eli Ricks are the only players I can think of that actually started multiple games here that were HS signees.

I think if you took a lot at the big picture, the percentage of out of state kids that don’t pan out is probably about equal to the percentage of LA recruits that don’t pan out.
The out of state guys who bust stick out more because there aren’t nearly as many on the roster.
Regardless of those two opinions above, it would be coaching malpractice not to at least recruit Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida.

I agree... thats inside of the SEC footprint. Those states have been good to LSU. Im talking about the HS signees from Midwest and northeast.

This isn't a valid argument because you have no way of knowing what those players would have done. More importantly, several key contributors in recent years came from out of state, including Whit Weeks, Zach Weeks, Mason Taylor, BJ Ojulari, DJ Pickett, Caden Durham, Davhon Keys, Weston Davis, and many others.
You can't build a successful program by relying solely on Louisiana recruits. Does LSU need Louisiana players? Absolutely. No one is arguing otherwise. The actual argument was that recruiting out-of-state high school players is a waste of time and resources, and that's simply an uninformed and laughable take. And to defend it as you have is even more laughable.
