They are worse than Pelini’s group. It’s a combination of bad coaching and talent but I think the coaching is much much worse than the talent level.

Profoundly arrogant, and tried to run a system that required a unicorn. His Drop Linebacker was too far off the line to be effective against the run, and too big/slow to act as a nickel in coverage. Result was that we went 10 against 11 on every down.

Just, exposed. Lost almost the entire patchwork portal secondary he had in 2022, and this year's patchwork portal secondary didn't pan out. Dude from Syracuse could run defense but physically couldn't cover big WRs, it was like watching a point guard try to guard Shaq in the post.
Dude from Southeastern turned out to not be a P5 corner, got toasted.
No sophomores stepped up from last year (were there even any?), and the freshmen weren't ready to play.
Tried to move the freshman All American pass rushing LB to MLB in hopes he could cement the D, but all it did was remove him from the game. I think he's JUST an edge rusher, nothing more. Definitely not the next Devin White.
D Line coach went out, and the D Line never materialized. The transfer LB from Oregon State didn't perform as hoped for.

Of the 3, I pity Pelini the most, because he walked into a shitshow. I despise Tepper because it didn't have to be that way, he did it to us. House basically doesn't have the talent to play SEC defense right now, and there's no hiding it.

Good post, but House hasn't gotten the defense to do the basic stuff correct. I dont know what they teach at practice but it's not defense 101.

Tackling has been atrocious. Defensive line and linebackers have mostly not been in the correct gaps. The whole damn team takes bad angles to the ball. The defense doesn't get lined up in time several times a game. Linebackers have been some of the worst I can remember to play for LSU. They can't cover and they can't stop the run.

I believe this guys analysis. House has been exposed as a bad coach and his staffs recruiting isnt great. Kelly is responsible for hiring him so it falls to his desk to fix. He better not retain House. And he should be calling this guy to help pick the next coach.

Kelly is an idiot for who he hired on the defensive staff.
