LSU is of course capable of going out and finding another great DC. That doesn't make Aranda any less great.

Plus, O has an established track record of hiring only the best assistant coaches available, so I wouldn't be worried one bit about him replacing Aranda.

One thing I picked up and loved was when commenting on the offense he mentioned getting the RBs involved in the passing game. Coming out of the backfield. We have lacked that for so long. I believe it was when discussing Brady

It’s the difference between a known quantity and a gamble.

How big of a gamble a hire is is a different matter but that still a factor.

Funny you say that...

You prompted me to go back and listen and guess what...he doesn’t even mention anything about kickers versus linebackers, that’s Jordy.

LINK

Aranda is kind enough and professional enough to not correct Culotta.

Divinity has the size I guess but damn no one's gonna fill Devin’s shoes.

This.

Phillips/Baskerville/Divinity will be able to fill in as the thumpers and Queen can cover the flats and play sideline to sideline.

There isn't a player on the roster that can do both at the level White did. Not even close.

I've always thought lsu fans have an inflated value for aranda. Good coach but not unreplacable.

The only teams to have top 10 defensive S&P+ ratings for three straight years: Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and... LSU.

Jordy says that line about kickers vs LBs but then ask Aranda who will replace Devin.

Yeah the problem is Jordy is parroting a much confused narrative.

For 2 years people have said “LSU had more kickers than linebackers”

The problem is the quote from Delly’s Advocate article says that LSU had more kickers than inside linebackers.
