Yeah because he played for LSU and I love my Tigers!

Guice is a POS and it doesn’t matter where the frick he played college football.

I do not like the police practice of handcuffing people they are arresting if they show no signs of resistance. It’s humiliating, and it’s routinely done to perfectly innocent people. If they did not have a cage in their car I would understand it, because the officers are vulnerable with someone behind them.

Yeah let’s not handcuff someone who can get angry enough to choke out a female (allegedly). You have to take the DTA approach as a law enforcement officer. It’s policy and it’s smart...unlike your opinion

Dumb is routinely used to describe acts that are evil. It is certainly dumb, but if he had beaten this woman in a clever way that allowed him to escape punishment it would still be an evil act.

If it was, say, Derrick Henry, would you give him the same benefit of doubt, or are you just blowing Mike the Tiger? Think honestly about your answer

If he hit a woman he did a shitty thing. Good people do bad things sometimes. I know nothing about this case, but a general comment:

Many young men from dysfunctional families had mothers who engaged in substance abuse while pregnant. This often results in behavior and cognitive problems. A man like Guice could be a good person at heart, but the “faulty wiring” in his brain results in episodic misbehavior.

I’m not saying he should not be held accountable, just that he might very well exist as a Jekyll and Hyde who is a fundamentally good person.

You’re legitimately retarded. Have you ever seen a police video or someone showing “no signs of resistance” then when informed they’re being arrested, immediately pull out a gun and start shooting?

That’s what you’d like—tell them they’re being arrested and not handcuff them so they can kill the cops doing their job. fricking idiot

Only story I have is my son and his friend were in NOLA at a clothing store looking at clothes that they couldn't afford..window shopping and they were 15 and 18 at the time. Guice came in alone and just started talking to them like regular guys talking music, clothes and just shooting the Bull. Never said he was in the NFL or played at LSU. Obviously they knew who he was. He bought them some jeans and t shirts. Was damn near a grand for the stuff. He told them be safe and thank God every day. My son still has those clothes that he can't fit in and the selfie they took. Thats still doesn't mean he's a good dude.

well, that shows further poor decision making and intelligence honestly. spending $1k on random people when on your first nfl contract which will also be his last. hope your son helps him pay for some food/drugs when he’s living in a tent under a bridge. seems that’s where he ends up.

Darrius has been accused of and arrested for several terrible crimes. He is, however, innocent until proven guilty. Being accused of something and even being arrested for it does not mean he did it. One of the problems in this country right now is that we have forgotten this.

I do not know Darrius. I do not know if he did all of the things folks on this board claim he did while in high school or college. I pulled for him while he played at LSU and hoped he would succeed in the NFL, yes because he played for LSU. It pained me when he got hurt. It pains me to see him in this legal trouble. I will not lose sleep over it though.

That being said, IF he did what he is currently accused of in this case, he should spend a long time in prison. For a man to hit a woman, that in my opinion is the lowest of the low. However, IF he did not do these things OR is found not guilty in a court of law, he should be signed by another NFL team.

I am sure the truth will come out, eventually. But until that time I will continue to hope that people will stop presuming his guilt.

were you dropped as a baby? Tell that to dead cops who let their guards down because the criminal wasn’t “resisting”. Good god man.

Wife beating is unacceptable.

A man does not ever put his hands on a woman.

read the story. La'el and the woman had contact about the child possibly being his. After the woman was killed, her 10year old daughter mentioned Lael by name.

In the end he was never a suspect, but that is someone you have to question. The timing was just terrible all around.

Who cares what you "think." Suspects are handcuffed for the protection of the public, police, and themselves.
Question.....What do you suppose a suspected criminal does "just before" he/she becomes a violent suspect who resists arrest, grabs a policeman's gun, and shoots 3 people?
Answer......."they show no signs of resistance"

It’s humiliating

Simple solution.....So don't choke/beat a woman.

No, it is illegal (and worse than shitty). You are making excuses for choices that shitty people make.

Wrong. There is no causative connection between drug usage during pregnancy and this type of abusive behavior.

but the “faulty wiring” in his brain results in episodic misbehavior.

More bullshite. You liberals are always looking for an excuse for bad choices/behavior that shifts the blame away from the perp. Our brains are wired to do many, many "things." It is our culture and our understanding/belief of morals/ethics/sense of right and wrong we were taught by our parents that shapes who we become as adults. When a "majority" of your culture idolizes/accepts amoral behavior (through rap music lyrics, lack of respect for law enforcement, etc), there is a serious void of peer pressure and/or social expectations for good behavior/acceptance of societal norms.
