Daronte Jones...We should have stuck with him a little longer.

Daronte Jones didn't get a fair shake. The defense was truning the corner the last half of the season when Coach O took his hands off.

We should have stuck with him a little longer. This is by far the worse DL, LB, and DB play I have ever seen from an LSU team in over 30 years.

I thought that back then. When O quit trying to push that 4-3 USC crap Daronte did a pretty good job.

Didn’t Daronte have a cool bourbon set up?

I dunno, Beaux Pelini's Second Act was really, really bad.

I would take all of ‘21 defensive staff over this staff.

Andre Carter
Baker
Daronte’

They made Bryce Young shite and kept Arky to 10 points in regulation

It got better after Ole Miss beat us and Lane Kiffin called coach O and was like Ed O you know you can blitz right?

The next week we blitz the shite out of Bryce Young and we almost beat Bama lol

Pelini 2.0 was some shite, but damn, it was better than this. We had talent, just often out of position. We are out of position and the talent is bad.

You don’t fire a coach, pay his replacement $100 mil then tell him he must keep coaches from fired staff

Kelly obviously earned the right to select his own staff. But even without the benefit of hindsight his choices were very unremarkable.

True, but you can tell him to get rid of the ones that aren’t cutting it (see Les Miles). When you’re loyal to a friend and not the program then you are not getting paid for what you were hired to do. If no significant improvement is made, a change is in order for the defensive staff.

This would be unfortunate because recruits don’t like instability. Historically, they tend to favor relationships with the staff. Hies like Lindsey, who already has ties with a majority of those recruits, is the best case scenario in that case.

Those aren’t the only things to consider, but it’s one of the things that stand out besides just coaching

He fired one of his best friends last year.

You let your $75mm coach make his own hires. When he fails, you make him fire them and take a little more oversight
