Literally every LSU QB sucked with the exception of Mett & Joe since Flynn. We’re talking relative to LSU standards bud.
Ok. He wasn’t a total pile of shite. Fair enough. He was just one nugget

Both Etling and Lee are underrated even as they were average.
If we had a defense when Lee was a freshman, he may have developed into a competent QB.
Malveto, plus Lee having play before he was ready, was a lethal combination.
Name the freshmen QBs that developed under Miles and his offense.

Etling was not good

LSU beats Alabama in 2017 if Etling could hit the broadside of a barn. Canada actually had a great game plan.

Danny Etling
I don't ever recall sitting back and saying, "Man, this guy can make all the throws and reads."
He had a couple of games here and there that he looked like a top SEC QB, but I can't say he wowed me as Mr. Consistency and star leader week in, week out.
He never had a young mind like Joe Brady either, so I'll give him credit for being as good as he could for the sub par coaching around him.

He’s still on the Seahawks depth chart, he was posting stuff with him Russell and DK practicing today

Danny was always a warrior out on the field . Always thought we at least had a shot of winning with him on the field unlike other quarterbacks we’ve had .

He was scrappy I'll give him that!

Jarrett Lee.
Jordan Jefferson. He actually beat Bama and got screwed out of another in 09 with the spear and the bs no pick call.

Etling was a solid athlete. I think he had a lot of heart and played as hard as he could, and he made some good things happen. I always respected Etling. He started off as a scout team QB, and ended up being a starter.

I always appreciated Anthony Jennings...no really for the Wisconsin game where reportedly he told Leslie to get out of the way and let him do his stuff during a time out.
He wasn’t very good and LSU would have won that game with Etling.

I’ve always thought Herb Tyler played his arse off every game & seemed like a great leader & a QB that the team was always behind.

But let’s not pretend Bama wasn’t the second best team that whole season, and the better team on Jan 9.
I just ask myself - If the roles were reversed Does LSU or Hell would ANY team aside from Bama get that same shot?
Im sure we all know the answer.

Still pisses me off thinking about it from the eyes of Okie State. Their only loss was on the road on a Thursday night where they had just gotten word that a basketball coach had died that day.
At Bedlam they absolutely destroyed OU and won their conference title. OSU should have been the opponent as Bama essentially got a bye for not having to play in a conference title game.

Unbelievable statement. Why are you so dismissive of Max?

Billy Ezell
Far and away the worst LSU starting QB since I began following this team, in 1963. Just look at his stat line:
1963 passing: 14/43, 32.6%, 152 yds, 1 TD, 3 INT (55.8 rating).
1963 rushing: 68 att.,184 yds 2.7 avg.
1964 passing: 31/84, 37.3%, 384 yds, 4 TDs, 8 INT, (72.8 rating).
1964 rushing: 50 att. 178 yds, 3.6 avg. 1 TD
Hardly stellar numbers. Surely you're being sarcastic mentioning Billy Ezell. He was simply terrible and the reason LSU, who played lights-out defense back then, lost 5 football games he started.

He bombed against Bama so don’t care

then wins (or, at least, doesn’t lose) The Game of the Century three years later, and may have won a natty for us
Nice bait. I see you caught your limit.
