All I care about is his QBR against Bama. After the game come back and post each QB's rating against Bama. Florida and Auburn the best 2 defenses we have played so far dropped 3 easy pics.

Auburn player makes the pic we lose for sure. I like DE he plays hard, but in the passing game he is not a weapon to beat good defenses. We will have to be able to run first with him at QB and I don't think we can do it against Bama. We shall see.

Yep. I'd also take Fromm and Bentley as 5th and 6th over Etling.

After watching Danny play he is absolutely limited, I don't think anyone can disagree with that but I'll never say anything bad about that young man. He's a warrior out there, and when his line looks like a broken dam he finds a way to get yards most of the time. Without Danny this year would be lost. We would likely have a losing season at this time. Danny is a good QB but not great. He's not going to go out and win a game on his own but he won't do anything to lose it either. That's what we have, and maybe one of these days he can put together a game of his life when we need him to do so? We need it this coming week Danny! GT

I don’t think he’s bad...but just adequate I guess.

I would just like to have a QB that puts some fear in the opposing defense..enough fear that they have to play honest.

That being said...we could do a lot worse than Etling

He got grossly outplayed by a guy who ranks 12th on that list and lost to Troy. Not knocking the guy but c'mon he is just a serviceable QB.

Yes you are.

Before the season started the large majority of Ranter's said all we needed from Danny Etling is to be better than what we've had the last 2 years, don't "Lose the Game". Dude throws one interception this year in a new system. Defense gives up too many point against Troy and way too many against MSU. Running game took weeks to develop and now if we had a better QB the receivers would make the big catch, tackles would make the stops, OL would prevent the sacks, field goals would be at 100%, all if Etling were "better than serviceable".

Go make your wife a sandwich dumbass.

9/13 200yards 2 TDS 0 ints with 2 drops... that was a bad game?

+1

Danny Etling has given LSU the best QB play since 2013. I wish we would have had him in 2014. We would have beaten Bama that year.

Etling had 60 yards passing in the first half vs Troy and we scored zero points. How is any of that the defense's fault?

Yeah 23 points isn’t too much when your supposed to hand 50 in a Sun Belt team

Not to mention we fumbled or first drive in our own territory.

We also dropped a for sure pic 6 in that game, as long as you're playing the what if game.

All his "underthrown" passes are most likely by design so that only the WR has a shot at it. But, go ahead and blame his noodle arm.

If we are picked off in the first half, Auburn likely isnt going to be in the situation where they are throwing the ball with 12 seconds left in the game.....

If the pick happens, there is no telling how the game plays out. Put I feel pretty dang confident we dont win that game if we are down 23-7 going into halftime

You can go back and second guess the entire game. You can't say we definitely lose if they make that pic when we had opportunities we missed as well. How about if Chark doesn't fumble that long pass completion?

It's stupid to downplay us winning that game when we didn't play our best either.

You must have missed the Auburn game in 2016

He was cheated out of 40 seconds and still was a tenth of a second from throwing the gsme winning pass, which was an amazing throw, FWIW.

You must have missed the Auburn game. Before that last drive started, he had 77 total passing yards. LSU had 13 total points. The reason a last minute drive was even necessary was because of Etling. We lost a game in which our opponent didn't score a touchdown.

Rewatch the final drive. The clock never stopped on first downs and runs OOB.

THIS IS A LIE. I'm watching it right now. LINK

(2:42 - 4th) Danny Etling run for 12 yds to the LSU 37 for a 1ST down. This play ended at 2:42. The clock was stopped for the 1st down and then started again when there were 33 seconds remaining on the play clock

(2:15 - 4th) Danny Etling pass complete to Travin Dural for 16 yds to the Aub 47 for a 1ST down. The next play was snapped at 1:57 on the game clock but 15 seconds on the play clock. That's an 18 second differential in game clock but a 25 second differential in play clock. Math means the clock was stopped for the first down

(1:30 - 4th) Danny Etling run for 18 yds to the Aub 27 for a 1ST down. Danny ran out of bounds at the 1:30 mark. The next play was snapped at the 1:30 mark. Because the clocked stopped.

(0:54 - 4th) Danny Etling pass complete to Malachi Dupre for 4 yds to the Aub 14 for a 1ST down. Clock stops at 54 seconds. It starts again after ball is set with 34 seconds remaining on the play clock.

YOU LITERALLY MADE UP THE WHOLE DANNY WAS CHEATED OUT OF 40 SECONDS THING.

Im not doing that

I simply responded to one post about the int

And what if it was a good pass that leads to a td? Good chance we win that game comfortably

Some more stats since you're being nitpicky and lazy

Passing Yards - 5th
Completions - 10th
Attempts - 9th
Percentage - 8th
Yards/Attempt - 3rd
Passing Touchdowns - 7th
Interceptions - Basically 1st if you only count starting QBs
