re: Daniels staying has nothing to do with Howard

In our 4 losses we gave up 24,40,38 and 50.
I am willing to put FSU in ST because they absolutely fricked us.
But the other three loses we have up 42.67 points a game.
I think We can pass someplace around.

Even stranger that so many fans, who said he was nothing special, would be concerned about where he transferred or where he is ranked at Ole Miss. If he is not talented enough to play at LSU wouldn't you like for him to start at one of our opponents.
Howard is a top prospect there’s no question about that.
He was going to be third string at LSU so he left to go where he was in line to play sooner.
There’s nothing we could do to keep him short of running off better players and doing that would be dumb.

Dont care why HOward left. One of the three was going to leave regardless. I would rather have Nuss and JD over HOward and NUss or JD and Howard. Would have been nice to have all 3 but that wasn't going to happen.

I’m upset Walker left.
But you can’t burn the world down because your third string qb decides he wants a different opportunity.

In a post some time ago I opined Howard might leave. My Tiger loyalty was questioned for me even thinking that was possible. But for a number of reasons I thought the kid wouldn’t want staying here for another year doing the same. Lo, behold those (NIL) green pastures beyond, especially for the young.

Howard is now behind two guys who were starting Power 5 QB’s in 2022. The guy from Okie State is good and Dart was pretty solid last year.
He seems to have figured out a way to put himself in a worse situation. Pretty impressive
Hard to see how this was an optimal decision for him.

Money we don't know about?

This is basic logic. If Daniels leaves, Nuss starts ahead of Howard for 2, maybe 3 years. If Daniels stays, Nuss starts ahead of Howard for the following 1-2 years. Nuss is the variable that matters, not Daniels. The JD5 haters crew is letting emotions turn them into the most irrational of people
I agree overall.
However there is a logical thought that it was the lack of reps he would get as the #3 that was the catalyst.

frick this thread. I realize y’all are having a discussion but the hell with walker, he’s old news.

I hate to see homegrown 5* Walker leave. I don’t think it has anything to do with Daniels staying because Nuss will start next season.

Howard could have stuck it out and stayed and fought. He chose not to. He could have become a Louisiana legend, he chose not to.
We have 2 very capable QB's and an incoming freshman followed by another incoming freshman the year after. Our QB room is fine

I was laying in bed last night pondering this thread and had another idea about Walker leaving... we can all agree outside of LSU that Baton Rouge is a complete shithole. Maybe he took a trip to Oxford and really liked it and saw how much better life can be.

He can anywhere he wants. He'd have to wait a year.
he's not going to wait a year. he'd be better off on the bench waiting for the starter to come out from injury.

Unless he can graduate quickly.
would be his only option to start somewhere quickly. not sure what his status is.

His stats. Look at him play, friend. He is no QB. Circle back this December.

Did you ask the "old people" whose daughter was raped and ran down the other day? We can't ask her, the young person.

Oxford is probably not the best example to make your point. They’ve had a couple high profile murders there over the last few years.

Are you really comparing Oxford to Baton Rouge?
