He’s an average passer

He had a bad game.

But guess what would make him look better?

Tennessee’s 128th ranked passing defense.

Nuss had 3 drops and one poor pass. All the others were perfectly thrown. Stop spreading those nonsensical stats...they don't tell the story and if you watched the game, you would know that.

But its not. A QB who couldnt match the Mercer or San Jose St. QB's production is NOT the "best chance". Its a joke people are saying this. It has to be a troll.

So start Nuss Saturday against UT?

Yes, but none of the other teams are handicapped with Denbrock’s ridiculous play calling and lack of preparation

It's not a rebuilding year ? I'm not sure the word means what you think it means.

Alright, slow your roll w/ the sarcastic anti-intelligence insinuation. I don't give BK a "rebuild" pass as some of our fan base does. There is talent all over that field to include the offense as I previously stated; the cubbard is not bare as you would expect in a "rebuild". By some standard, you can claim every year is a "rebuild" esp. with transfer portal. Bullcrap excuse. This roster is not void of talent or depth, anywhere.

He isn't average.
We are, literally, one of the worst team in cfb at gaining passing yards when a pass is attempted.
JD is 91st in passing yards per attempt
110th in pass yards per completion
77th in passing the

So no he isn't average

He’s also 29th in the country in rushing yards vs P5 teams.

That’s including RBs.

He’s a below average passer but an elite runner. Doesn’t make a ton of mistakes. Can move the stick with his legs. You can win games like that. Alabama played for a NC with freshmen Jalen Hurts throwing 90% of his passes within 5 yards.

Nuss just looks like a below average passer.

Since you are unwilling or incapable of making a counter-argument, I'll assume that means you think the offensive passing woes is because LSUs offense is void of talent. Noted. I think my position is more defensible. Defining "rebuild" is relative to what you believe as the endstate for this year. If a natty is the expectation, then yeah maybe you can call it a rebuild. Natty is not my expectation. An effective passing offense is my expectation so not this shouldn't be considered a "rebuild" year because it's more than achievable based on the talent available.

You same people bitching about a 4-1 ranked team were the ones predicting a 7-5 season or worse

Just shut up and enjoy a solid rebuilding year

Auburn did a great job maintaining discipline on the rush and pressured him often.

This is the main issue. Auburn just showed everyone how to beat Daniels. Rush him the way Aranda used to against mobil QBs. Rush while maintaining two gap position, keeping the OL in front of you, and collapse the pocket. The fact that every team hasn’t done that already is a testament to how stupid most coaches are.

In the mean time maintain a 7 man zone. Daniels won’t throw downfield routes that require timing and he’s not consistent enough to take the short passes the defense is giving him. Robbed of his running lanes he’ll be in trouble.

Everyone is going to play Daniels that way from now on, unless he runs into a moron like Orgeron. He will either develop the guts to throw deeper, or he’ll be on the bench.

I’d be curious to see how many yards he would’ve had if his receivers didn’t drop 7 passes

We will find out whether this is true. I suspect that it is not.

Well this isnt true. At no point was bama 110th in passing yards per completion.

We have rbs that are better rbs.
Im just saying he is in no way an AVERAGE passing qb. He is well below average. If he isnt hobbled he probably gives us the best chance to win but if his running is diminished even a little he is our worst offensive player on the field.

Correction. JD gave us the best chance to win. As the defense has improved the need to be more risk averse passing has become more important because we will not win any of the next 4 games with 80 yards passing. The coaches simply need to tell JD you need to start getting the passes out earlier or we will give Nuss a shot. And tell Nuss when he gets out there to do the same thing. No turnovers is great but only throwing when a receiver is wide open is a recipe for failure. We have a defense that can overcome those mistakes. And the OC needs to game plan accordingly and we also need to take a couple of shots every game and keep the DB's honest.

This! I think this has a lot to do with receivers, rhythm, being "on the same page" with whoever the QB is -- JD or Nuss. Both QB's suck, maybe one sucks less - I don't know. But WR's need to catch the ball.

You can't count Mercer, that's silly

If you look at the other 3 games, those QBs averaged about 8 yards per attempt, which is a decent number.

We ended at half that number.

Huge disparity, vs you trying to point out we didn't fair that badly.

Terrible argument with stats that don't support said terrible argument.

What does Nuss’s 2/6 for 5 yards tell us?

That Kayshon Boutte dropped a perfect throw on a three yard out, and that Brian Thomas dropped another perfect throw that hit him in his hands mid chest. Both passes were placed exactly where they should be.

The receivers probably have been used so sparingly while Daniels is starting that they've forgotten how to catch a football. I watched Daniels throw a ball too high to a tight end reaching on his toes that is 6'5 with a massive wing span. The Tight End was standing still and there was zero pressure on Daniels. He's just inaccurate. Even when he sees an open target (which doesn't happen often) he can't get the ball to them accurately.

Now that the Oline has developed. Daniel’s is no longer our only option at QB. To win in this stretch of games LSU has to throw over the middle. Has to complete 60 plus % throwing to all three levels. With minimal turnovers. Kelly knows that. Daniel’s knows it. Our opponents know it.

Anyway. Hoping for a good outcome
