Maybe House is just giving up coaching IL and focusing solely on DC responsibilities.
Is there any other DC in the country the doesn't coach a position? I don't think I've ever heard of that. And if he can't do both, that's a red flag.

He mentions Bob Diaco is expected to coach inside LB’s next season which is House’s current position group.
To me, this seems like evidence House is staying. A new DC would want to manage his own staff.

Just need to wait for the NFL hiring season

Yeah you can except to see some staff changes here soon

House is definitely gone. Fans need to stop stressing over him coming back.
Any ideas on who's coming in? Coaches, tPortal, etc?

It’s been pretty under wraps. I have no clue who it’ll be yet. When I hear more I’ll drop a
emoji somewhere

BK has done a good job so far, but keeping House will get him fired.
No, losing will get him fired. I don't care who he keeps as long as he wins. He has done a good job so far.
None of you have any idea either.

Certainly hope so. So many of us expect these changes to occur quickly. Let's just see how things go.
We realize it's inevitable that changes will be made.

if house is retained, this will be the cam cameron move for BK
Meanwhile we are #14 for recruiting next year. I'm not saying that House is great, but what are we even comparing him to when Chavis, Steele and Aranda were all coaching defenses that were made up of much more talent?

Dandy Don reads the Rant and other sites, that is ALL he knows….

You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about if you don't think this defense had major attrition and personnel issues all season completely out of Matt House's control.
You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about if you don't think this defense had major issues beyond personnel and depletion. Misuse of personnel, poor scheme, lack of fundamental technique, zero in-game adjustments, zero improvement by any individual player or group (in fact, regression was rampant in most areas). zero aggressiveness, zero ability to tackle, zero ability to stop any offense with a half a pulse. Without Jayden Daniels and the offense being the #1 ranked offense in the nation, this coaching staff would have coached LSU football to a losing season for sure.
All of these issues were egregious and point to a serious issue with coaching. A stain has been attached to LSU football that will be remembered for a long time. The football program took a serious hit as far as status goes and it certainly cost LSU a chance to play for a national championship.
If Brian Kelly tries to put a band aid on the problem and keeps House, it is going to hurt LSU big time in the short term and long term. The only fix for this is to clean house with the defensive coaching staff and hit the portal hard.
No one gives a crap how he chooses to do it. Just do it or the LSU football program will pay dearly in the future.

So, It's obvious that you belong to the camp that says 9-10 wins is sufficient when you could be playing for national championships. You do realize that with a decent coaching job by House this year we would be playing for a national championship?
The defense was horrible because the coaching job was horrible. If the hard choices are not made right now, your 9-10 win satisfaction will become 6-7 win disappointment.

No. House isn't staying b/c of this. A HC has say on hires also. Kelly may also know who is being hired and worked it out. Your DC has to coach a position of some kind today, even if a grad asst. is doing most of the work.

Who is this Bill Kelly you speak of? Inquiring minds wants to know.

No matter how many times this is posted, it's still incorrect. Defensive coordinators do not hire their own staffs. I literally don't know of an example of that ever happening.
Do they often recommend a coach or two that they have a relationship with? Sure. But DCs do not hire their own staff.
Kerry Cooks was hired a month before Matt House.

Why do people keep saying this? Coordinators don’t get to pick their staff when coming in usually. The head coach makes all coaching hires. Look at A&M hiring position coaches before DC. Kelly hired these position coaches who had ties to him not House for the most part. Coordinators certainly have input but they don’t get to pick their staff usually.

Kelly is setting himself up for disaster if he brings back House. He’ll lose the fanbase if there isn’t immediate improvement next year.
