He’s playing better and with more intensity but he is a step slow to recognize the play and does not tackle like an sec LB. We have not developed talent at LB or Safety and it is alarming.

He literally stood still and watched Ward try to tackle the TE at one point. He was 2 yards away from the play and just stopped, assuming the 160lb safety would take care of it.

He got a bunch of tackles and made a few good plays, but was out of position as usual and making tackles down feel for a majority of the game.

He’s not as bad as some make him out to be, but he still is a weak link on the defense and an athletic guy playing what is a more cerebra position. He was destroyed by screen plays and nowhere to be found in coverage.

He’s played a little better than the start of the season, but still is bad overall. The tackle numbers are deceiving since most are made after good gains by the opponent.

Yesterday Nix runs for a 5 yard gain before bei my tackles by Clark who starts jumping around like he got a sack. That is the problem with this team. A tackle is now a great play.

He played very well, as he does every week.

I think that it is true that he has played much better. The part that stings is that he often is in the forefront of the negative as well. Not a great tackle attempt on the nix running TD. He still has a tendency to let the player come to him. Saw it a couple times again this game. He isn’t really aggressive when it’s time to be aggressive. Which is why people incorrectly called him unathletic when charbonnet ran past him all game. He is flat footed way to much.

its like he doesn’t know he is allowed to initiate contact with the ball carrier.

If you mean chasing their RBs out of the backfield like Tom chases Jerry, then yes, he played phenomenally

Remember that time he refused to wrap up nix and let him score a TD but flexed on the play before?

He wouldn’t start for Vandy. Think about that when we’re saying he’s better than he was.

It’s a shame when Yahoo Sports knows how this team fails more than our coaching staff

One of his better games, but not good. Not close to good.

For instance, early in the game, 3rd and 3 or so, and he literally waits for Nix to come to him, past the first down marker, rather than try to beat Nix and stop the first down.

Dude has the physical tools, but doesn't play football.

I thought the flex he did after hitting the Auburn RB after an 8-yard gain at the goal line right before Auburn punched it in to take the lead and win the game was particularly effective. He's a dumbass.

He's definitely in better positions. Dang sure getting alot of tackles.

I defended him alot last year on here when people kept calling him slow. He's not slow.

BUT....
Watching him pisses me off, frankly. Time after time I see him flatfooted waiting for the play to come to him. Until some lineman pushes him out of the way while he's staring at the RB coming to him, then he just runs down RB from behind 16 yds later.

On one play WR or TE caught ball 3 yds short on 1st down line, he was next to him. He broke down like "come at me bro", WR turned upfield to get 4 yds and the first down. Clark tackled him from behind... after the first down.

He seems to lack any kind of killer instinct or aggressiveness. The flexing after the goal line knock out of bounds was also terrible. Dude ran right past him to get there on his route. He stood there flatfooted until he caught it.
