Have a downvote a-hole.
Learn your history before stating something like this. I LOVE KIIM MULKEY in every single way as a coach and a former player. However, make no mistake, there would be no building if not for Pete Maravich. It was called the “House that Pete built” long before it was named the a Pete Maravich Assemble Center because people literally overflowed from the Cow Palace - I was one of them. If not for Maravich, that building would never have been built..

Nothing against Sue Gunther, who Joe Dean told he didn't have to fire because no one cared that the womens' basketball was underperforming, but it needs to stay the Dale Brown Court untill Kim Mulkey wins a National Championship.

Does it have to be named after a coach?

If she just makes it to a national championship game she will have accomplished more than Brown and by lsu standards should have her name on the court. Dale Browns biggest contribution to LSU was getting Shaq to come here. It’s a massive contribution but I’d rather they name things after Shaq than Dale.

Dale and his minions including Engster are whining about it
I could care less if it pisses Dale off
Dale is part of the problem this program is where it's at
His behind the scenes undermining of this program hasn't helped since he was canned
You want to fix the hoops program, get him away from this program and make a Saban type hire that elevated the football program out of the dark ages
That's what it's gonna take to fix it not some court naming bs
The way things are trending no one will care to watch the men's team and the court naming is meaningless

Dale Brown doesn't even deserve the court named after him. What did he do that's worthy of that honor
Let's see...
winningest men's bb coach in LSU history
LSU men's bb coach 25 years
2 Final Fours
from wiki:
Brown is the only SEC coach to appear in 15 straight national tournaments. Only 11 coaches have made more consecutive NCAA appearances. Only Adolph Rupp of Kentucky has won more games in SEC history.
Nine times Brown was the SEC Coach of the Year or Runner-Up. Twice National Coach of the Year. His teams beat Kentucky 18 times, more than any coach in the nation. Bleacher Report named him one of the 50 greatest coaches in college basketball history.
During Brown's era,LSU set the record for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th largest paid attendance for a regular season game in college basketball history.
1-20-90 Superdome - 68,112 - LSU 87 Notre Dame 64
1-28-89 Superdome - 66,144 - LSU 82 Georgetown 80
1-03-92 Superdome - 61,304 - LSU 84 Texas 83
Coaches John Wooden and Billy Packer, CBS television analyst, have paid Coach Brown tributes about his career at LSU.
haters gonna hate

I bet that NOT A SINGLE season between 1977 and 1998, he didn’t have at least one player on his team where he didn’t cheat to get that player or keep him.
I hate to break it to you but you can say this about football and baseball and basketball still.
Please don’t tell me you’re naive enough to think LSU doesn’t cheat.

Should have never been named Dale Brown court to begin with, for what, 2 Final Four. I realized LSU isn't a super power house basketball school, but to glorify 2 final four appearances is weak.

Dale had success well before Shaq. Pistol Pete was obviously the most important recruit in LSU history (thanks to Press), but it could be argued that the second most important recruil was Rudy Macklin who really jump started the Brown era. I attended the 1981 Final Four in Philly as a student.

Having the most BBall win in lsu history is like having the most football wins in Mississippi St history, it’s only impressive to the school. 2 final fours isn’t legendary. LSU basketball great during the Dale brown years but he didn’t turn lsu into a lasting basketball school and he never made a national title game.

Agree. Name the playing court for Gunter, and move the Brown name and court downstairs to the practice floors.

Dude,
Do you ever have anything positive or uplifting to add? No, because you’re a miserable piece of $hit!
Did Dale bang your boyfriend or something?
Truthfully, I know the man and you don’t know jack shite! But as always, you hide behind a fake name and throw out unsubstantiated bullshite against the man without any push back.
Well, here’s how it feels: I heard your a convicted felon, and have a passion for BAMA football and small boys…
On the other hand, Dale took a long time joke of a men’s basketball program and at least made it into a winning program during his tenure.
Have a nice day a$$hole!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Brown cheated to become mediocre Skip did not. That is a fact.
Football was not as bad although some of it went on but not to the extent Basketball.
I watched MANY checks get cashed in the ‘80’s.

Ron Abernathy - he can tell you a bunch.
I was a big booster during that time.
I am not miserable at all. Just don’t think it was appropriate to name a court after a person that sits there on his high horse and dogs Wade while he was fired for cheating. It is no different that Petino and Valvano getting all of the positive press from that POS Vitale when they knowingly cheated and got busted.
Reliable Oil Field Services. Go look it up…

Damn, guess they should keep his name on the court then.

Welp we’re back to being a joke of a program just in time for his name to be on the court lol.

Ron Abernathy was Rudy’s High School Coach. How do you think money was passed?
Posted on 2/2/23 at 3:04 pm to Tiger1988
Sue won over 700 games and is in the NAISMITH Hall of Fame, Dale will never be. Her impact on the women's game was legend. She also never had NCAA violations and was head coach that got Seimone and Fowles (of course Pokey and Bob helped)- both of whom will join her in Naismith. IMHO Brown and Gunter both deserve it.

And…
I personally saw money in football and basketball change hands at three (3) D-1 schools in the 80’s and early 90’s!
But you act like it only happened on Brown’s watch and at LSU! You’ve got zero credibility and even less honor! Why, because you’re a miserable ba$tard…
Please, continue joyous and happy day!
