Current rumor is that they're announcing Mainieri is retiring just before the Bama series

I don't have confirmation of that and I'm not going to stake much of anything on it. But it's what's out there.
Supposedly Woody is going to at least make a run at O'Sullivan as part of the top tier, though whether that's for anything beyond sticking Florida up for giving him a big raise (which they richly deserve), I don't know.

I really don’t want Sully. He has underachieved as much as PM and probably with more talent.

I hope it goes down that way. He deserves some love on the way out. No thanks to O’Sullivan I want young with lots of energy. Like Vitello or equal....

This pretty much nullifies any validity to the mainuri Bama series retirement announcement. No chance this happens and makes no sense for both parties.
I could see a after the season is done announcement with much more viable candidates

You don't really have that option. Mainieri has had it. He doesn't want to coach much longer.
Most of the former players want Cliff Godwin. Especially the ones who played on the 2009 team. They think he's a god.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a little retirement tour and rallying cry for Mainieri instead of leaving it in limbo like Les. As much as I wanted Miles fired in 2015, I hated to see what he was put through.

Voltiger didnt even have osullivan on his list, one of yall is getting bad info. I wouldnt mind osullivan at all, but i do have a few id prefer ahead of him

As I said, my theory on that one is that Woody is going to make Florida run Sully's salary up and stick it to them some. Nobody has ever really paid them back for that whole bullshite deal with the hurricane, and Woody has some PR work to do with the fans and donors after the past year that hiring Kim Mulkey doesn't really fix.

They should announce Mainieri is retiring before the season is over. It would motivate the team to play harder.

The gators could be playing till June. No way LSU waits that long to hire a replacement & no way Sully quits before his season ends.
