This. I dont care what stamp Miles put on it. I read all the reviews about Crowton from the Oregon fans before he came here and it is funny that they were all correct. The first year , he is the wizard, after that he is the buzzard. "A leopard dont change its spots."

when your OC is incorrectly arguing with the olineman about blocking assignment, its time for him to go

Miles calls running plays when the other team loads the box! He almost never throws on first down

I didn't know we should expect to be up by 30 by half.

Against the McNeese's and Tulanes of the world, we should expect it. Its embarassing beating those teams by a touchdown or two.

Hopefully they open the offense up a little now that the QB situation has changed.

I think if Miles' philosophy is to shorten the game by controlling the clock and having a strong running game instead of having many offensive plays by putting on an aerial show, I'd still say that is fundamentally sound. That's Bama's and Saban's offensive philosophy as well.

Where Crowton went wrong was the execution, the coaching, and the discipline. He cannot claim he wasn't involved in game planning, or coaching everybody from the OL, WRs, and QB. and sadly, that's where he went wrong. I think he maybe a good Xs and Os guy, but he was just not a good coach at either LSU or Oregon. and having more plays to run his offense would not have helped.

More difficult to execute when everyone knows what you are doing.

Personally I believe Crowton made the offense way to complicated. When you have the horses that LSU has there no need to be that fancy.

seems like someone with that mentality would be a little more clock savvy . ...

61 wins in 6 years takes a little savy.

If this offense was anyone but Miles' offense, then how come it looks the same with a new OC as it did with Crowton?

what??

Like it or not, Miles has a HUGE role in keeping the offense simple -- look at his resume before you talk about looking at Crowton's.

yes...MIles has a role in the offense. He's the head coach

keeping an offense simple isn't a bad thing. As a matter of fact...its exactly what Krags said he was going to do when he was hired

Why is that embarrassing? How is a win bad?

Meh, I think it is pretty obvious Crowton's offense was just as much his as Miles. That is obvious. Miles is going to have his hand in the offense, he is the HC. Which is why I don't think you'll see a vast improvement this year.

Ha ha
It's the OCs fault we have bad QBs.

Gary is saying what everybody but Choctaw knows. Les puts the brakes on the offense.

Barely beating a div 2 school is embarrassing.

Both Miles and Crowton's past shows their offenses regress the longer they are somewhere. That's how our offense was as bad as it was last year.

Didn't realize Miles was that powerful when Saban was here. I loved Jimbo, but everyone on this board bitched like hell about him too.

So doc 10 years go by and he gets to run his offense. So in 07the it wasnt him either. So badicalky he hasnt done shite in 10the years. He had to go, why pay him that much if he isnt even the oc?
