All you need to know about last night. Ump was trash, but our pitching did their job as best as they could.

Pitching absolutely came through for us. That was honestly best case realistic scenario for us heading into the game. 3 runs and only use Floyd and Hurd.

We are going to need to score 7-10 runs a game to stay alive with the pitchers we have left

Thompson vs a great pitching staff is not a good matchup for us

Was making a thread to post exactly this. Can't win games against good teams like that.

Yes but a couple of things:

1) Dugas got 2 walks and got on base twice.

2) Jordan had the huge DP to kill the rally and keep the game tied.

3) Pearson had a huge steal to lead to our only real earned run

Travinski and Crews didn't contribute in any meaningful way.

I'm going to get crucified by the fanboys but it's true. You could even make an argument that Travinskis hit to move Tre to third was huge instead of striking out or hitting a weak pop up.

I was thinking Jared Jones might have been a good pinch hit spot for Beloso in that situation

Thompson is in the game because he can erase runs on defense. We don't get a lot of offensive production from our 8 hole hitter but that's to be expected. He's in for his glove.

I LOVE Jared Jones but no way, he's a huge K risk and you couldn't get a K there and set up a double play.

Kling would have been a better PH if you wanted to lay one down but Jay doesn't play small ball. Would have been nice to get that run it but it's not his game.

Pitching was fine for LSU, they just figured out that our guys cannot hit a breaking ball.

Yep, you throw those numbers up there and I say we lose 9 times out of ten, regardless of who the opponent is.

Yall need to adjust yall expectations for offense and pitching.
We are through 4 days of this tourney and 8 games. No one has scored more than 6 runs in a game. We did it once ourselves. The wind will be blowing in again today. Homers aint gonna happen. 5 runs is a good day. The team that walks the fewest batters and manufacturers runs the best will be the one that wins. Obviously those things are not our strength, but doesnt mean it cant be done

Hitters 4-6 are all batting in the .200s since regionals started. That is a problem and needs to be picked up in a hurry.

it was clear the hitters weren't seeing the ball well on both sides. It was a pitcher's night

he has played better defense this year...and also has gotten worse at the plate. I don't know why any team ever throws him a fb bc he is completely lost when he gets a slider/curve from RHP or LHP...i don't get how a hitter gets worse with more ab's

Wake? They didn’t hit the ball well at all either. The only difference was when we got first and third we hit it to the only spot where Morgan can get thrown out and Wake was able to find a hole. That was the only difference.

Nobody is asking for homers.....hell a pop fly would have scored Morgan from 3rd.

Pitching was great for LSU yesterday outside the 6th inning.

Those guys going 0-ffer was the killer. No juice in that LSU dug out. They looked flat.
