sounds like lsugang is the walk on that got lit up...you step on the field you expect to get hit period. Not a cheap shot like you claim...that is whats bull shite. When you get pinpointed for not going all out in practice and you are a competitor like Loston next time up you bring it. And if you are the guy paired with him you just say oh shite and get ready. It's football and they are in full pads quit being a vag!

If you hit a dude going all out in the middle of a half speed drill, that's a cheap thing to do to a teammate. Do the current drill right, and bring it in the next full speed drill.

Do you know anything about Loston other than he's a big time recruit with huge upside?

True, if it was a clean shot with both guys going full speed, then it's awesome.

Dude needs to do it on game day. Its selfish to pop off like that when you are a player like Loston.
Saying that, this happens everyday on the football field, hence "keep your head on a swivel".

So let me get this straight, Loston gets called out for not going full speed and is now villanized for going full speed?

Makes perfect sense.

No, that's not what people are saying. Going full speed is great, especially after he got called out. But you don't get pissed, and then risk injuring a teammate when he's not expecting it.

ETA:...IF that's how it went down.

Just seems far fetched to run a "half-speed" tackling drill. If it was just a wrap up drill, that's one thing. But a half-speed tackle drill? That's how people actually get hurt, by not going full speed.

And if he went full speed and punished someone in a wrap-up drill he'd probably get kicked out of practice.

they were saying a coach called him out for not going full speed, yet it was a "half speed" drill working on technique???

something doesnt make sense.

Kind of my thoughts as well.

I've seen guys take cheap shots in practice before and they usually get sidelined and told to cool it or whatever.

No reports of that happening to Loston.

I think thats the point....Loston was going full speed because he's a mean SOB.

lack of discipline like this leads to 15 yard personal foul penalties that extend drives, and loses games. I doubt we'll be praising the fact that he's a mean SOB if that happens.

that's why i'd've thought that Jai would play that position well, he's good in coverage

What has ever given you that impression? The guy couldn't hang onto his starting spot last season because he kept getting burned. Hawkins ended up splitting time with him.

For a safety, I'd rather have a guy that's an enforcer. WRs who know they are gonna get smacked are easier to cover 'cause they're not going full speed and their heads are on a swivel.
