we need lee--is hatchs scrambling ability more valuable than lees arm? i dont think so. lees not imobile. lees strong, accurate arm with decent scrambling is better than hatchs great scrambling and a weak arm. presence? hatch isnt a 4 yr starter, and lees presence will come soon enough. we can have jj run the option and we already have a running game. but lees arm is way better than flynns. if he gets going after the 1st 3 games, we might have a star. we only needed flynn to win a nc. this is lees 2nd yr, not 1st. even without playing experience, he still is a step up from true a freshman and has learned the playbook. lookw wht sam bradford did as a true freshman. screw the harvard smarts. give me this playmaker that can actually utilize byrds speed and tollivers talent when he doesnt underthrow them.
this will keep people from stacking the box on the run also.
---disagree all u want but i dont think hatchs upside is that great. and his only attribute is that he can manage the game. says who? he might not manage anything. overall lee is better for our offense. i hope whoever plays is great but i just dont see it with hatch

Ok, and from ALL of that long posts you made, you never once mentioned the decision making of the 2 QBs.
Truth is, NONE of us here really know who the better decision maker is at this time.
So, that long post is pretty useless.

Craig James isn't the coach

If everybody expects Hatch to fail , he will be under pressure to fail. Give him the benefit of the doubt, patience is a virtue that few people ever learn its value.

guys, our players are being coached under a hands-on microscope everyday by coaches who have excelled at developing college players. They work on ultra-fine details that none of us are privy to. So, when a pundit makes a statement like that, I'd take it with a grain of salt.....it's their job to create fodder. As someone said earlier, Les is a NC caliber coach and Craig James is NOT.
I wonder how much time at practice Craig spent with Hatch and Lee.......also, lets not forget Lee has been having some injury hitches (not really issue) with his lower back.

Are all the Hatch Haters ie Negatigers the same people who said that "RP should start" last year ahead of Matt Flynn?
No.
Now for my question. When Lee ends up being the starter in a few weeks, are any of you that are dogging people for thinking he will eventually beat Hatch out going to come back and say..."you know what, I shouldn't have been such a bitch about this whole Hatch thing, Y'all were absolutely right about Lee and in your assesment of the situation."?

Looked like a damn fool with that extra dose of hair color and gay looking little beard.

Chad Jones is all over it. No worries.

a lot of the commentators on TV were only hired for their NAME, not their ability on TV.
He is a good example of it.

I will blindly trust, for the rest of my life, any coach/staff that a) wins the SEC b) wins a national championship c) goes to a Final Four.

As usual, only the 1st four words of his statement are accurate.... "I have no idea"

If Craig James knew what he was talking about coaching wise someone would be paying him to coach. Broadcasting and coaching have to very differnt goals.

Eric Dickerson knows more than Craig James.

Until they hit the field, everybodys opinion is a wild arse guess.

Considering he is 22 years old I would say maturity plays a huge part until Lee gets some reps under his belt.

I've been hearing how Hatch is horrendous for the past 2 years.. I guess they like the fact he is the most experienced..
I'm telling you all that this will be your nemesis. When Perilloux was kicked off the team, he took any chance of a repeat Nat'l Championship with him. No team has won a NCG with an inexperienced QB...at least none that I can remember.
