Now THAT's an original idea. Let's play without anyone playing 2nd base!
A new version of the shift perhaps?

He has about as many strikeouts as Marceaux in half as many innings. He has double the strikeouts of Hill in less innings. You get the point, no matter how precise the stats are.

quote:According to the Miss. St. baseball website ( LINK) Sims has given up 6 hits in 42 official at-bats for a .143 batting average against plus he has walked 3 batters and hit no batters. 42 + 3 = 45.
If that’s the case then the radio guys at lunch were wrong. They said 30 of 35.

I don’t doubt your stats at all, I was just validating what the other poster stated. I heard the same comment today at Cane’s and I thought that sounded extreme. Thxs for clarifying that.

He's hittable, just brings incredible intensity and swing/miss stuff. And, a guy they're not afraid to go to early and ride him.

I see the confusion about what the radio guys must have said.
The other poster said Sims has faced 35 batters and struck out 30 of them.
In actuality, Sims has gotten 35 outs (11.2 innings pitched) and 30 of them have been K’s.

I may have misunderstood the radio guys or they did a poor job if explaining themselves. Thxs again.

Florida is swinging it tonight.

Thanks for the correction Russian.
El, didn't mean to highjack your thread.
I was sure hoping the infield would be settled by now.
I think Arnold will improve in time. The only questions is will CPM allow him to do so.

They're hard to read, so far. I don't know enough about them. When I watch them, I'm not impressed. Florida is also really meh at times. Young, like us. Seems like they really lock in when their horses are on the mound.

Florida is good when they want to be. Sully doesn't give a shite about pre conference. They will go off in SEC play. They were a #1 team for a reason.

Cranford and Arnold both have strong arms and good gloves. What keeps them from getting a chance to play 3B? Are the throws inaccurate?
Arnold is struggling a little from 2B because he is throwing darts instead of uncorking. Doughty looks very comfortable at 2B, I would like to keep him there.
Let Arnold, Cranford and Safford battle out 3B. I just can't believe none of them could handle 3B at least somewhat competently.

They're young. Really talented, but young. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, because we're in the same boat, but they haven't popped off the page to me. I'm obviously biased but our young guys pop off the page.

Maybe arnold showed up to practice with a bar stamp on his hand?
