I think its going to be Hess,Labas and Hillard on weekend and Gilbert is going to be first out of the pen.

Midweek will be someone else. Sanders looks like an option.

I don’t disagree with moving Gilbert at this point point in time.

Gilbert has been fine but I'd like to see Labas in the rotation.

Having 5 starters come postseason would be amazing

I think CPM and company really wanted Hess to go back to the pen, so originally I would have said I can’t see them moving from Gilbert because they need him starting games.

But with Hess performing better than I think anyone could have imagined, he’s cemented into the Friday night role. Personally I don’t think you’ll see Mainieri move on from Gilbert this quickly though.

Gilbert does not need to be in the starting weekend rotation. He just don't look to good in that role.

And we still don't know what Storz can do. That could potentially be 6 starters. That works out very well for postseason formats.

Its hard for me to believe that if Labas was going to pitch on Wed that he would be pitching today. I think Peterson or Sanders is on Wed and Labas is going to get a weekend start with Gilbert first out of Pen. That would be a solid top 4 pitchers on the weekend.

Storz getting healthy will tie this all together.

I agree but I think you give labas a little longer doing what he is doing to get him some stamina

I agree with the weekend rotation but I think Gilbert becomes closer. He can throw 95 as a close.

And he has some junk in there. Bain is consistent but no junk and you just saw the best hitter on Mizzu just took him yard. That is the only thing that worries me about Bain is the Big Boys can turn that fast ball around if that all you got.

I don't think he did a bad job yesterday. he just didn't get any run support. but it is clear to me that we need bullpen help and having gilbert in the pen would be tremendous. I don't give much of a damn about mid week games but on the week end we need more quality arms in the pen, imo.

I wouldn’t have a problem with that.

Labas is a starter.

Gilbert can be a hybrid reliever for 1 inning or 5 much like a year ago.

As we saw today Bain’s a perfect setup guy but his fastball will get hit.

Yea Gilbert wasn’t bad yesterday. He gave up a 2 run homer and that was really it. He had 0 run support.

bain would be devastating if he had an off speed pitch. you just can't live all year in the SEC with one pitch. he will cost us a game or two if he doesn't start mixing it up some.

I think Gilbert looked fine Saturday night. It’s the bull pen that really blew it.

It’s coming including hitting.

Yeah, CPM will do his tinkering for another week or two and then these guys will settle into their roles. The SEC is going to he damned tough this year though.
