I am curious to see Norman as well.

Norman will hopefully go 5 and then we will see Bugg and Duvall

I'm expecting to see Bugg in relief tomorrow, he warmed up twice this weekend but never came in to pitch.

This isn't based on last weekend's performance. This was always the plan.

At the risk of sounding like a total idiot... Can someone explain to me the big difference in what day a pitcher starts?
Usually you face the other team's ace on Friday night. By Sunday you're looking at their number three guy. Its about matchups.

Yep. Always want to come away with that Friday or Thursday night win. Nola was an exception just because CPM didn't want to get him out of his rhythm last year. Which is why Poche started on Thursday.

I see no problem with it.. Poche is your friday guy, but its also nice to be able to trout out there on mostly any given weekend, most teams friday night guy.. we've got plenty of talent to play with obviously, all being capable to deal

good, that's exactly what all these series before SEC play are for

Well I get that but Im seeing a lot of "Poche is better on Saturdays and let Lange take Friday..."
So they are just saying I think Lange is better??
People aren't saying that Lange is better than Poche.
Those who have suggested Lange may get the Friday role are basing that on Mainieri's tendency to name as the Friday starter the pitcher who throws the hardest and gets the most strikeouts. e.g. Gausman, Ranaudo, Nola.
A pitcher who can go deep in the game and get a lot of Ks will save your bullpen for the weekend.
Lange throws 92-94 and Poche is 89-91. Lange (after only one start) seems to be more of a strikeout guy than Poche. Last year Poche went about 6-8 innings per start and we really don't know how many innings Lange will reach.
After all these things have been evaluated pre-conference and on the road at Houston, CPM and Dunn will end up starting the most effective pitcher on Fridays in the SEC.
It's a good "problem" when you can choose among multiple pitchers as your Friday guy.

This, eventually. I like what he's doing because he's creating versatility among these guys that he may need to use during SEC play.

didn't he say he was going to give each of them a friday start?
Posted on 2/17/15 at 3:56 pm to rt3
It was known before the first weekend that the rotation would switch each of the first OOC weekends.

So Poche is taking Sunday? I think Norman's performance will also say a lot of Godfrey can't get comfortable.
I certainly think Norman will have something to say about the final rotation, but if Robertson is at 2B behind Godfrey Sunday, the outcome might have been a bit different.
That said, I am very excited to see Latz when he gets the all-clear.

Coming off of injury a few weeks into the season, I have my expectations tempered for Latz. He's certainly got some of the most upside of this class of pitchers, but it may take a while to be a true contributor.

I agree, you have four viable starters (right now). Let him get comfortable in the pen, throw him a some mid week innings. He'll contribute on the weekends and we have depth for the tourney.

CPM already switching up weekend pitching rotation
If you all paid attention to the pregame conversations this weekend that has been the plan all along. Charlie talked about it before Sat game. CPM plans on rotating these young guys around every weekend to find their spot before SEC play...

This is hardly news. But still, I love it. This is the time to tinker.
