Did anybody see any? You can really hear them in the highlights.

Apparently they used to be a big thing at Texas games but they’ve fallen out of style unlike at Mississippi State.

I wasn’t aware of Texas having a cowbell tradition.
quote:

July 29, 2013, University of Texas issued rules barring cowbells, yes cowbells, from DKR Texas Memorial Stadium. It has been three years and three lost football seasons. Texas is cattle country with a cattle mascot for its football team- Bevo. Bevo and loyal Longhorns want the clank of the cowbell.

I haven’t seen it mentioned much here. I guess people didn’t think about them because they didn’t know it used to be a thing at Texas. You can hear them clearly if you pay attention.

Other tx fans wanted him to stop too.

I heard it on broadcast. Was wondering why I heard cowbells. Very annoying.

I sat one section over from the Texas student section. I didn't see or hear one cowbell the entire game. Cow bells during the game was a non-issue.

The Texas band may have had them and they were wired for TV sound, but you sure couldn't hear them in the stadium.

Texas is cattle country

So every team in the stage should be able to bring artificial noise makers. Longhorn logic.

Other states have cattle but we have more so we should be able to use artificial noisemakers and they can’t because they don’t have as many cows.

Texas is annoying.

Was once at a Saints game at which a (needless to say very trashy) guy had smuggled in a modified trumpet. The trumpet allowed him to use a handle to produce airflow, allowing maximum decibels with no effort on his lungs.

The entire section’s ears were hurting/bleeding, and dozens of fans collaborated and asked me to ask him to stop.

I politely (I was legitimately extremely diplomatic in my approach) asked him to please give us a break. Dude threw a beer on me and slapped me, then tucked tail and ran from the 30 or so men in my section who had had enough of him and were ready to kick his arse.

A Superdome cop evidently found him and removed him and his padnuh from the game, so they missed the entire 4th quarter of the NFC semifinal the year the Saints won the SB.

I received a standing ovation and applause when I returned to my seat.

The trash at NFL games is probably a very small percentage of fans in attendance, but the trash in NFL venues is VERY trashy.

I have no regrets about taking one for the team that night. It was worth it to get that idiot out of the stadium.

No cowbells anywhere around sec 3 row 32 seat 39.

And none heard or seen in stadium or Texas fans in Stadium club

Can confirm. The Longhorn Band rings cowbells during the game but only does it while the ball is in play.
