While he is garnered more recent support, he is one slip up away from being crucified on this board again. The guy has no room for error.

He should be fired if he loses to Tennessee honestly. That is worse than UF last year.

You could put me on a stage in town square naked and throw rotten fruit at me for 2 weeks for $3.5 million

Such is the life of a major college football coach. Luckily O probably has thicker skin than his sycophants

and further this is such a dumb comment to make. This is major college football, are you suggesting we just accept losing? Is that what they do at Alabama or Ohio State? You know where the coach doesn't get a lot of scrutiny? A place like Duke. What kind of program do some of you people want?

You beat me to it!

I would GLADLY welcome such scrutiny if I had 3.5 million reasons to ignore it.

I think hes on record saying something along the lines of "You win or you don't coach in the SEC" (he said it around when McElwain was fired).

I think he fully understands the scrutiny and will step up to the plate. I think he more than anyone realizes how important these last two conference wins are.

The scrutiny all comes with a high-profile job that pays 3 1/2 million dollars a year and I'm sure Coach O wouldn't have it any other way. I'm also sure Coach O couldn't give two shits the opinion of tRant.

Don’t lose to State by a historical margin and to Troy and he wouldn’t have been crucified.

I build houses. That would be like me forgetting to put a kitchen in a house. Whatever your profession- there are certain things that are simply unacceptable.

LSU should never lose to Troy.

This... I agree the man has pressure but come on he makes more than 99.999% of people in Louisiana.

Yes. Acknowledging 3 things in my own mind:

1. You can please some of the people all the time, you can't please all of the people all of the time.

2. Any decision where you have multiple options will be considered a "wrong decision" by some; i.e., for a certain % of the 'scrutinizers', you can do nothing right.

Just get over those two things. If you try to overcome those, you will fail... including in in your own mind. They are not overcome-able by definition. So don't try.

3. There are some you can do no wrong with. Their feedback is not a valid basis for going forward.

Yep.

Also. I work in sales (insurance) and the numbers for all 200+ sales people are sent out to the entire company every Friday morning. It's just like coaching. Black and white, wins and losses. If you win, they like you. If you lose they don't care how great of a guy you are.

comes with the job. He voluntarily signed up for that.

Oh, and he's paid $3.5 million per year. That comes with a fair amount of expectations, don't you think?

Which is a shame... not saying he was the best hire or anything, but got to give him credit for this team not folding after the Troy game....

He will get credit for that. He'll also get criticism for losing it.

For a $10 million buyout? Yeah, I think I could do that.
