bama has the depth GA doesn't and will scheme to keep JJ inside because he can't throw well enough to keep the D honest.

Funny because I figured him saying "we are gonna figure out something to stop that option" meant they tried their best to scheme it at halftime and it still didnt work. JJ and the option will work very well in a rematch. However he does need to throw it more like his first 3 starts. Against UGA we couldnt do diddly poo offensively in the first half. We couldnt make a first down. We couldnt run the ball we didnt try to run the ball. We couldnt complete a pass-we sucked.

LSU QB's vs. Bama, last 4 years

2008: J. Lee: 13/34 181 yds. 1 TD 4 INT -3 yds. rushing
2009: J. Jefferson 10/17 114 yds. 1 TD 0 INT 16 yds rushing
J. Lee 4/10 44 yds. 0 TD 1 INT -12 yds rushing
2010: J. Jefferson 10/13 141 yds. 1 TD 0 INT 27 yds. rushing
J. Lee 4/7 67 yds 0 TD 0 INT -12 yds. rushing
2011: J. Jefferson 6/10 67 yds. 0 TD 0 INT 43 yds rushing

JJ gives us the best shot against Bama any time

The formula is clear with this team. Defense, special teams, run the ball. QB is essentially:

- hand it off
- run a couple of options
- complete 5 or 10 passes, mostly short yardage stuff.

JJ fits the bill. He gives us the best chance to beat bama....again. If JL didn't come in after JJ completely got the shanks last night, obvious his career is done. We all need to move on.

Give Bama a short field the ENTIRE 1st half and I promise they will find a way to put points on the board. Our defense was on the field the entire 1st half last night ... we survived against UGA, but I wouldn't bet against Bama in the same situation

They had field position the first game, and JL gave them 2 ints, but LSU still won. Your logic isn't logic. Give them field position, ill take the D's chances on getting a turnover.

LSU could beat Bama with either of these guys. The QB position really hasn't played a huge part in this team winning games.

no...JJ can never beat bama again because everyone knows that the first half of the UGA game is exactly how him and the o-line will play a month from now. its science

No matter who the qb is, if we come up with 14 or 17 points off of special teams/turnovers and don't turn it over, we will beat anyone.

That said, if we give up a couple of big plays and the other team gets some points on us and protects the ball (unlikely- we forced turnovers all year), we will need more that 25 total yards out of our qb (note the 25 total yards is not net of the intentional grounding).

Iagree Jefferson looked awful last night like he did all last year. Lee is so much more accurate in finding his receivers. What is up with giving Lee, in the final 30 seconds to come in and kneel the ball after he took us through the tougest part of our schedule. Total disrespect to a fine young man. I would love to know why Miles has done this to a great kid who has handled adversity so well. He is a classy young man. I lost respect for JJ long before his bar fight. He has NO shot at NFL. I will be so glad to see the Jefferson era over.

What part of "if" do you not understand. The premise was LSU having a repeat performance of the SECCG against Bama, meaning 0 first downs and 12 yards of offense ... i.e. consistent short field for Bama. IF (there's that word again) that were to happen, Bama would win.

Saban couldn't stop the option last year. He had 1 year and a bye week to figure it out this year.... He didn't

Drives into the red zone

LSU. 4. Bama 2 (1 on the Lee pick)

Pay attention to the first game

gonna be hard to win a rematch without this sort of production imo. ---- The Rant.

nothing against Lee. i really hope both QB's get a chance to play and perform well. but i'm going to trust Miles knows more than the OP.

Actullay Bama would lose because if that happened then LSU would have a punt return, fumble return, int return, and a 50 yard rush all for td's. If that were to happen.

Maybe not. While I think the game would be much different, you never know. How important was the offense to the game last time LSU played Bama?

Special teams and defense are LSU's forte. Field position and keeping the other guys off the scoreboard.

IMO no, we need both to have some balance and if they have a month to prepare for jj again no. Hes one dimensional, they will force him to beat them and most likely that won't happen. Remember we can't afford to get behind on bama and JJ has got us in a bind for the last to games from being totally stagnet on O. We need both to keep their D off balance, he runs the option well and Lee with time can move down field. I think either one without the other can't do it. Remember they primarly planned a scheme for Lee last game.

or, IF that were to happen, our defense stops em from scoring too much, we improve offensively after the half, and hold up a crystal ball after the game. book it.

Yet posters seem to discredit this facet of the game. What if. JJ plays like he did last night, but what if the D and special teams play the same too, can't leave that out.
