You can point out the truth. If we have that many departures hopefully it's on the heels of a NC. Regardless, I can't think that far ahead right now. If it happens, it happens. Hopefully one of the young guns(Rettig or Jennings) coming in steps up and fills the void for our next four years.

about the only thing we will lack on offense is going to be the QB position if Mett goes but other than that we will be ok and Defense well we will have enough blow out games this year where alot of younger guys can play...Les puts these guys on the two year plan

I'm hearing LSU could lose as many or more than 7 juniors to draft.
I'm thinking:
Mathieu
Mingo
Logan
Simon
Reid
Faulk
Montgomery
One or two backs
Throw in Wing almost for sure, maybe Mett. It's also unlikely but not completely inconceivable for Loston, Ego, Minter, maybe even Williford.

And that's by far the most important part, considering our backups. Our best QBs in 2013 might be 2 (TRUE) freshmen.

But we would have to replace 3 OL if Faulk goes along with the seniors Lonergan and Hurst - that's not going to be easy. We'll see drop off there.

Defense

If we have a huge exodus on defense (Mingo, Montgomery, Logan, Mathieu, Reid...maybe more who knows) I don't see our defense being elite in 2013...still probably good, but not great.

we will see a drop off at the OL compared to this season because we are stacked every where but if you compare to others i think we will be close

keep in mind the DL will have alot of guys rotating so who says they wont break out and have a great year and then we will say this next year when they are gonna go....im def never worried about the D...the chief knows what he is doing and has been for a long long time

For those on Twitter, Corey Thompson is definitely worth the follow. He is hilarious and doesn't tweet extemporaneously about nothing. He is @ELITE23_CT.

He seems like a really good off the field guy and was a big get late in the game before last NSD.

We wouldn't have seen such an exodus under the Chief like this if it were to happen. Once again not saying the defense will be 2008 level or anything, but it would definitely drop off. You don't lose those kind of players in that number and stay the same (or get better).

If LSU goes undefeated and Mett shows his arm in a few games. Got to feel like his leaving is a possibility.

Some scouts have him as behind Barkley and Wilson.

That would be a big step back.

Thompson may indeed be a great pick-up--we'll see. He is a tremendous athlete.

I know the OL will be young, but if La'el has the kind of year many anticipate this season, Alexander continues to improve and others step up maybe the losses there won't be as bad as many expect. Also, this has been a strong area of recruiting for LSU the last two or three classes.

No matter what we will take a step back from this comin year as far as talent but you cant compare 2013 to 2012 when we havent played yet..you can only TRY to compare 2013 to years before

A more than apt replacement for losing out on LC. That about sums it up.
