Given the state of men’s basketball, I don’t think this is an ideal time to be talking about a new assembly center. Probably best to revisit that in about a decade.

It is a shame that men's basketball at LSU is not a high priority. That is one of the reasons why our basketball facilities are some of the worst in the SEC.

There is not even a hint of potential plans coming. This means that any significant changes will be at least 5 years in the future. There will likely be some other "crisis" that delays things even further. Don't hold your collective breaths.

Keep in mind their Baseball field is nicer too and they have some better features in their football stadium too.

You had some legitimate points until you tried to compare football venues and ruined it.

Facility upgrades are a tool from a past era. People will show up to an old dump if the team is winning (Cameron Indoor Stadium and Allen Fieldhouse and aren't exactly modern marvels). The PMAC will fill up if the team is winning (see WBB and Gymnastics).
i’ve said this for years. It’s not about the arena.

It's about winning.

If the team wins, fans will pack any shitty arena.

There’s no need to engage in a facilities race. Even if we win that, it’s temporary, and we’ll fall behind in a few years. It’s a fool’s errand.

Just put a winning team on the floor, and the fans will come. Regardless of the arena. .

ETA: Alabama is the best team in the country, and they play in a dump.

It’s not about the arena. That’s just a shiny new toy.

Built in 1972, with no luxury boxes, and only seats 11,230 people total.
If anyone says it's "serviceable", they are clearly out of touch with 2023 reality.

Initially around 15K was the seating capacity, but the seating was reconfigured.

You are an idiot. Move to Arkansas. I will support LSU. Better facitlies, better teams and better coaches. You must be a Walmart greeter.

Didn’t compare venues, said they did have some things right though. Nicer bathrooms, better concessions, etc.

Death Valley hands down is better without a doubt. I’ll take shitty food and a bad pisser for the environment we have.

Do they have a feature that lists how many SEC and national championships they have?

Seriously, I’m sorry LSU’s facilities don’t meet your standards. They do meet some of the best recruits standards that’s why we win national championships in baseball and football. Now I will agree with you that there is a clear lack of commitment to basketball.

PMAC is cr@p. Bad restrooms. Concourse too small and narrow for movement, sales, and usage. Old uncomfortable seating that aren't made anymore and can't be replaced. No cup holders. Fans too far from action limiting enjoyment and home court advantage. Leaky roof and AC issues.

Practice facility is behind the times and has AC and upkeep issues.

Winning is the most important thing, but having nice facilities contributes to winning.

Having a good men's basketball coach would also help. Woodward hired a coach commensurate with the current state of the facilities apparently.

As much as you would like this to be true it’s not. Baseball is expensive to operate, and it doesn’t have the TV revenue.
Each NCAA tournament win in basketball is worth $338,000 with a shelf life of 6 years, or each win is worth $2.033 million. Over that 6 years.
During the wade years season ticket sales were within 1,000 of what baseballs is and there are no suites in the pmac.
So if we invested heavily in the arena ( suites and club seats) and invested in having a top flight program (like baseball) basketball would blow the doors off baseball financially.
He’ll just look at the difference in facilities.
Look at all the bells and whistles the baseball has for training and development.
You put those resources in basketball and you can start printing the money
