Canada will be the scapegoat. Aranda bails on the sinking ship. Alleva fired. New AD fires Coach O next season.
As much as I hate to admit it (about Canada and Aranda) I believe they will be gone, leaving of their own volition. As far as Alleva... he needs to go NOW!! V. Ausberry can run the A.D.'s office with competence...
I have enjoyed the Tigers in the national spotlight over the past 15 or so years. the media, for the most part, showed respect for the coaching/recruiting...but now, we are, again, a laughingstock.
The sad thing about all of this is, not only with LSU but others as well, that the universities are judged not on its academics but on its athletics. Crap, I do the same thing. For instance, if you say the University of Oklahoma what do you think of? the National Severe Storms Forecast Center/Lab? One of the best Meteorology degree granting institutions in the world? No, you think of the football team. Just like the Louisiana State University Agricultural and Mechanical College...you don't think of one of the finest Chemical, Petroleum, Oceanographic engineering schools in the country/world. Nope...you think of Tiger football!! And right now we are taking a hit. Oh well, that's all.

That's what they're saying now since o has screwed the pooch thus far. Those same people have said for years that a flying monkey could win 10 games a year, year after year at LSU.

Well if we can pull 5 wins out, I think we may still qualify for the JC Penny's Bowl...

It is kinda worse than that. Four out of conference cupcakes. Florida is down. An easy opp division opponent in UT. A truly terrible SEC West.
And LSU is still in serious danger of winning less than seven games. With the easiest schedule you could possibly imagine. Failing at this level this quickly takes a special kind of leadership.

At the very least Alleva should be gone. I'd also want O gone too, but I dunno if LSU will pull the trigger on that.
The best way to play this is removing Alleva. That way, next year, no one will question a new AD wanting to bring in his own guy at the most important position in the Athletic Department. It's exactly what Nebraska is doing and it's the right move.

I stand corrected in forgetting that we played 4 cupcakes not 3. Jeez that's really really bad not winning 6 games in a 12 game schedule.

Man that is a slow burn to the ground.
It needs to be quicker.
Plus I want Aranda to stay and I think that needs to be considered. New HC would likely keep him and Raymond

Impossible. The O fanboys have made it clear that any idiot could see this was a 4-8 or 5-7 type rebuilding year.
Don't disrespect them... They are the "O" Rosy Finch BOYZ

what changes are made if/when we don't make bowl game this year?
What changes should be made? Clean house and reset the entire system like LSU did in 1999.
What changes will be made? They haven't fired Alleva yet so that tells me the degenerate that run LSU, King, and the BOS doesn't give a shite about LSU football. I mean LSU BOS has a Tulane Grad as Chairman. You think Ballard gives a shite if LSU football sucks? nope. Oh, I forgot.. The Louisiana Governor doesn't give a shite about the entire university. I am afraid LSU has entered another Dark era. The only saving grace is that Powers at TAF go to war with King, and the LSU BOS and demand change and if they have to get into a political shite storm to break the back of King and the BOS.

Have you looked at coach P. Dietzel's record at LSU?

I bet we go 6-6, make a bowl and...
This still happens.

I can see that scenario being played out... But this is based on LSU going 6-6. I don't see this team going 6-6. There is nothing that has convinced me that this team can go 6-6. That means finding 3 more wins.
What team besides Tennessee on the schedule, can LSU have a realistic shot at winning? Florida? They have this game circled. They will taunt LSU the whole game and live in the heads of our players for 60 mins. Ain't going to happen despite Florida being garbage. Auburn? No.. But the series has history of freakish shite happening so who knows...Arkansas? maybe... Ole Miss? it's in Oxford so no... Alabama? lol...TexaS A&M? Sumlin will finally get a W against LSU. No way the lack of depth on defense will keep up with A&M...I hope I am wrong but I am only seeing LSU beating Tennessee. and the only reason why I say Tennessee is that the Vols will have completely quit on Butch Jones come mid November.

There's no data or likely scenario, just a gut feeling. We aren't this bad of a team. And while O is an absolute disaster, I could see a couple of scenarios playing out 1) Someone on the team steps up and they play with heart for the rest of the season and squeeze out some wins. 2) O resigns publicly 3) O doesn't step back publicly, but does behind the scenes. Someone takes over - Aranda or Ensminger, etc. - and O quietly exits at the end of the season regardless of a small resurgence.

We aren't this bad....I completely agree. O has been the key driver to make LSU look like hot garbage and that is putting in the lack of depth into perspective.

Exactly. Which is why there's a small chance, but a chance nonetheless, that we win a few games on pure talent alone. When someone internally really comes to grips with O being a dumpster fire and they move on without him in some capacity, or they play for themselves rather than him, they could beat an Ole Miss, Tennessee, etc.
The ideal scenario in all of this is that we win some games to salvage the season and we get rid of O, preferably with him resigning and forfeiting some portion of the buyout out of the kindness of his heart. That's what I want to see happen.

I really believe it depends on the next two games. Split and we have a shot. Lose both and this team may very well pack it in.
Then this means we have to be Florida.

The only two questions marks are Ole Miss and Tennessee
Actually, while it looks like a pretty daunting gauntlet right now, you're forgetting that the last three games are against some of the worst in the SEC. Ark, Tenn and A&M could (*COULD*) be just as demoralized as LSU by then. Mathematically, at least one of them will be battling LSU for the cellar, so there are some potential late wins that will "save" coach O for another year. Let that sink in.

We aren’t winning 6 games.
Well, with DP as the academic liason, he can fudge the APR numbers and we can get a bowl with 5 wins like Miss St did last year.
