Dude was already here for four years and graduated. You act like he was guaranteed to go higher next year just because he played more.
Gilmore, LaCouture, and Herron came back and none of them were drafted. Darrell Williams had a good year and wasn't drafted either. Those are 4 seniors who went undrafted.

What kind of money is Clapp making? He may be practice squad. It was an awful decision.
OL will be a disaster.
Yeah boy, JC OL's, combined with mostly Sun Belt and SWAC level athletes.
The stuff of SEC Championships.

FYI- Like Clapp, Trev Faulk had already graduated prior to entering his name in the draft.

Clapp needed to show teams he can play 12 games. Kid is fragile
Or he needed to NOT risk another injury in college. Especially since he’s already graduated.

So another year under an oline coach who won a super bowl and is known to coach up some great olines wouldn’t help? I think another year could have helped him
How would it have helped him. He was a late round pick no matter what.
All another year would do is put him at risk for injury without a chance at getting paid.
Unlike KT and Weathersby, Clapp really had little to gain and a lot to risk by coming back for another year.
Especially given that he’s already graduated.

Clapp already graduated and got his degree, can’t fault him. The real idiots are Tolliver and Weathersby

Only reason for clapp to stay is if he wanted to go to grad school.
And who says he doesn't decide to do grad school somewhere else?

I just dont get it.
I really dont.
I wish will clapp or his dad or his coach or somebody that knows the situation would help us all understand.

I don’t blame him or the rest. I doubt they’re getting much out of this staff.

Clapp has more education and money than Darius David does.

Out of curiosity, what does the Saints drafting a T in the 4th round have to do with anything?
Posted on 4/29/18 at 10:01 am to tigerbait3488
Clapp had some injuries- especially his shoulder. He could not have afforded another injury. Wish he had stayed, but this is the main reason.

I honestly don’t blame clapp for leaving. He has really short arms for an NFL lineman, doesn’t move like some of these guys who went on Day 1&2.
Already graduated and has a significant injury history. 7th round was lower than what we all thought, but coming back to a team that will likely go 6-6 7-5 with a chance to get injured once again just isn’t worth the risk. If he got seriously hurt again his NFL future would be over.
KT is an entirely different situation. He had everything to gain by coming back as a starter.

No it’s not dipshit. He wanted to come back but with his injury history that made no sense.

Another uninformed idiot. Fragile? Started 36 games at LSU and missed ONE due to injury. If you would take a moment to research before you open your mouth you would have understood while he did have injuries he played through them and missed no time which is not the definition of fragile you moron. Who you gonna bash from LSU next? Freakin trolls killin this board

The list grows every year for LSU underclassmen deciding to leave early only to get drafted really late or not at all.
The coaches really need to drill this into the kids head before they make keep making bad decisions.

Y’all sound petty as frick shitting in Clapp in this thread
Posted on 4/29/18 at 2:10 pm to tigerbait3488
He was a redshirt junior you dumb frick.
He’s had a senior year of college. You just expect him to hang around for another.
He’s started for 3 years nothing’s changing in a year. He’s shown what he has to show.

No skin off your arse, is it? Why so angry at Clapp's fate?

This is one of the few helpful comments I’ve seen on this topic. I was wondering why he was projected so much lower than Ragnow from Arkansas and the guy from Ohio State when he was right there with them in terms of accolades. He seems to have good size and technique and was an All-SEC performer. Seems like very good value for the Saints in Round 7.

Since he graduated he's taking his shot at the league. If it doesn't work out he can head back to grad school if he wants or pursue whatever career he wants. I take the opposite stance, I was happy he got drafted and I'm pulling for him to make the 53!
