Conditioning Test - More Info [Burrow]

I can’t say enough how impressed I was with Burrow. I’ve seen it mentioned several times that he made it a point to come out first in his first day of conditioning tests. Can anyone shed some light on the tests? Would he have been going head to head with the other QB’s? If so, that is how you make a statement.....out work them immediately.

Don't take this for granted, but i remember it was said in a interview, maybe Devin White?, saying it's 16 - 110 yard sprints and shuttle runs

The 110 sprints have a certain time for each position that you HAVE to make it by. Not sure about the comment you’re mentioning, but judging from your OP, I’m assuming he beat the QB’s in their respective sprints.

I dont believe the conidtioning test is a requirement for QBs but he wanted to go out and compete with the rest.

The entire team has to do the conditioning test.

He said he tried to win each sprint, ahahah.

Who cares about the conditioning test? Jamarcus Russel was the best QB in the nation and probably did worse than the linemen that blocked for him.

Well if it says anything about character Joe is on the right track being completely opposite of Jamarcus.

Are you really that dense? Who cares? How about a kid transferring to a new team trying to earn a starting role.
Does your mom still strap your Velcro shoes for you?

Hey Einstein! It's not about his conditioning. It's about his competitive nature and wanting to prove himself to new teammates.

Here's a quote from the linked Sports Illustrated article about Joe and the conditioning tests:
You could tell. He jumped into the middle of a pregame scuffle between the two teams, his voice clearly recognizable on several videos of the 45-second on-field fracas. That’s a good example of how he won over this team in just two-and-a-half months, says receiver Jonathan Giles—the guy just jumps right in. Burrow called up the receivers during his first Saturday in Baton Rouge, gathering them for a throw-and-catch session, and he impressed during the team’s first real introduction to him in June, when he beat Devin White in conditioning drills, running through 16 90-yard shuttles quicker than the All-America linebacker. “We knew he was ready,” cornerback Greedy Williams said.

Jamarcus was never the best QB in the nation, or even close to it. He had the most potential, and never lived up to it because of this (among other things):
