If you're watching an LSU football or baseball game at home, do you only have peanuts and a Coke?

A ballgame is an outing, an experience, a good time. LSU should want to make the fan experience better than peanuts and a Coke.

Yeah seems like they did the opposite of adding variety

I am fine with a very simple menu if they would just do the few things right, but sadly they will not.

Do you people go to games for food? Just get some damn peanuts and a coke and stop fricking crying

They're weak addicts that can't go an hour or two without stuffing their face with anything remotely edible.

I can go three hours without taking a leak as well. That doesn't mean I shouldn't have the option of doing so.

And its funny you mention "remotely edible", as that is the issue the majority of the people have with the concession offerings.

YEA!!! frick these Charmin soft fans who demand a good fan experience from one of the wealthiest athletic departments in college athletics.... it's asinine for someone spending money on season tickets to have their wants catered to! People who drive in and dedicate their day to an athletic event should be happy with eating peanuts and hose water dammit!!!!

Hope that’s the case. Here’s a small glimpse of what other stadiums are doing:

The fact that Louisiana, a state that is one of the most highly regarded in the country for food, can’t have Louisiana quality eats at LSU’s stadiums is a joke.

Where is the:
-andouille sausage
-poboys
-boudin balls
-gumbo
-jambalaya
-crawfish etouffee
-beignets
-chicory coffee
-red beans and rice

It’s not that difficult.

THIS!

If you go to the business on Google, it says “permanently closed”. Sad.

I get the excuse for Tiger Stadium. There are 100K people, parts of the lower bowls are ~100 years old, the sections aren't connected, there is no central concourse, no service elevators, and no infrastructure for kitchens or room to build them within the stadium. It would be a huge expense and logistical nightmare to change that.

Alex Box does not have that issue. There is no reason we cant have better options. Well, other than a money grab, shite contract with a company that has no incentive to provide a superior product. Which means nothing will change until said contract runs its course and someone sees the value in changing directions.

And that is the frustrating part, at least for baseball. They have a great product in a large venue with great fan support. They already have business partners in the food and beverage industry. I have to believe LSU could achieve both the profitability AND superior fan amenities at Alex Box if they would just make the effort to do so.

They don’t? They don’t make more money the more they sell?

Of course they do, but they have a monopoly and they have developed a business model from that monopoly. From whatever criteria they utilized to reach that model it means lower overhead (quality of product, size and quality of labor force) plus a captive market, plus a certain price level results in their desired profit level.

Food truck along the 3rd base line wasn't too bad.

Having a truck isn’t new. But I didn’t make it over there to see if it’s the same food truck as before.

Actually Coach Bertman knew the value of a satisfied fan base and made it a priority to make sure the concessions didn't suck and that the bathrooms were clean.
The only thing that CJJ has said that I've really disagreed with is regarding fan experience.

He's been asked several times about Alex Box upgrades and always has the same answer: as a coach he's mainly focused on player development, performance, and recruiting-related upgrades. As far as fan experience, he trusts LSU administration to handle that part.

That's a cop-out and very short sighted, especially as often as Jay has acknowledged how much of an advantage this fan base gives him and this team. It's obvious based on recent history that they can't be trusted. As an extremely influential coach, he could have a huge impact on how much attention LSU administration focuses on fan experience.

Why would LSU willfully be bad at anything they do? There is no reason to not have top tier fan amenities for one of the best fan bases in the country and show visiting fans how it should be done at the same time. As many have said, it's not hard. This is Louisiana. It's not like they have to invent recipes for some of the best food in the country from scratch.

Really weird that the signature food in Fort Worth, TX (TCU) are the signature dishes of Buffalo, NY. Probably should have done brisket or something instead

Johnson knows what it takes to win and it’s not fan amenities. I believe he wants an indoor infield, and that’s what he’s going to politic for.

So there is no incentive to increase sales?

These aren't mutually exclusive. Concessions can be dramatically improved without spending millions of TAF dollars.
