I'm not a fan of this combination. It always seemed like a week sauce compromise to incorporate purple jerseys into the mix, but without the notoriety of gold/purple/gold, the derisively designated "Hallman Specials", known for its association with LSU's worst stretch in football.
The truth is that gold/purple/gold really stands out, and is a distinguished look. I remember seeing them in a game in 2018 vs La Tech -- they looked beautiful in that game under the lights in Tiger Stadium

Anything other than Gold,White, Gold should NEVER be worn. If we can't wear White jerseys then Purple ONLY.

This feels as good a thread as any to once again state that i hate the Geaux font.
If they were going to make a font for all LSU Sports (luckily baseball hasn’t been sucked it) I would have based it off the letters on the football helmet.

All combinations look pretty good EXCEPT when the helmet and jersey attempt to match. Gold helmets with Gold jerseys is the worst of all. IF we want to wear Gold jerseys at least wear White helmets and white pants.

Michigan has navy pants, white pants, and yellow pants. They’ve changed their white jerseys multiple times the last 15 or so years
