Comparing Jordan Jefferson to Jason Campbell

I think if Jefferson comes out and has the same kind of senior season that Campbell had then we are undefeated national championships. Remember Campbell had a terrible first three years and then under a new OC went undefeated and turned it into a 1st round draft pick. Jefferson is of the same mold but more mobile and has a ton of experience.

Never heard that comparison before.

perhaps a more athletic Jason Campbell. I think it's a fair comparison if that's what your into.

Didn't Campbell have a different OC every year he was at Auburn?

Unless JJ somehow learns between last yr and this year to read a defense, I don't think you will have to worry about these comparisons.

Campbell was the most accurate passer in the SEC his Sr year if I'm not mistaken. Look, I hope JJ does well this year, and I hope the same for all of our QB's, but you guys are dreaming if you think he's all of the sudden going to be efficient as our QB. He runs well, and that's about it. He's got a terrible feel for the game in that he makes terrible decisions (when he actually makes one w/o looking to the sidelines), and our defense and special teams along w/ JLee bailed his arse out a lot last year. His "wins" are team wins, and if you guys think about it a minute you wouldn't be able to recall 1 game that he LED the team to victory. I'm not talking about a good game b/c he's actually had 3 or 4 in the last 3 years, but a game in which he LED the team to victory. Enjoy dreaming...

How many loses do you give JJ before he is replaced?

Not one who watches every LSU game or follows every LSU practice, but I don't see a comparison at all.
Jason Campbell was a QB. Jordan Jefferson isn't.
Just my two cents.

I think some here are forgetting just how bad JJ was in 2010.

And the inverse to that: how many wins do you give him before he's given credit?

In JJ's case, any argument that LSU's successful year last year was based on JJ's performance is disingenuous. Also, people seem to forget LSU finished 3rd in the West last year. I realize the West was strong, but let's not start giving Jefferson kudos for a 11-2 record when his stats were atrocious and the team qualified for a non-BCS bowl and a third place SECW finish.

it's amazing how the worst q.b. in lsu's last 30 years will be the only one to start off at q.b. for three and half years. that amazes the shite out of me.

He was talking about the possible future, so was I. I am in no way saying he has been great in the past. And to be fair, I do believe they were tied for 2nd in the West last year (yes, the tiebreaker went to Arkansas).

That's like comparing a beautiful Mozart painting to a coloring book. J Jeff is far more capable than Jason Campbell, who is barely hanging on in the NFL.
Expect big things from J Jeff this year. He showed us in the Cotton Bowl what he is all about.

Just to name one:
TaMu
He was a leader that day, that's what impressed me. Not his crappy bombs that TT made great adjustments for, but his leadership, his confidence. He was unshakeable, unflappable. Standing in the pocket and throwing while being hit.
Will that continue? We'll see.

Maybe more athletic than Campbell but with a much less accurate & nowhere near as strong throwing arm.
