First off, as an Iowa fan I believe Tennessee fans are the worst. So let's get that out of the way!

The times that Iowa and LSU have played, your fana have always seemed great and very good to interact with.

I have always wanted to see a LSU home game and I thought a game vs Tennessee might be awesome to see. Hoping LSU has a great start to the season so that game becomes huge and is a night game!

Wife and I and another couple are coming into NOLA on Wednesday and coming to Baton Rouge Friday morning...

We have tickets already.

We want to have the full LSU football experience, including experiencing the legendary LSU tailgate scene!

What do we need to see and do and how do we do it?

We are flying, the other couple is driving.

Obviously a long ways off and likely won't know game time till fall but just want to get a headstart on planning.

Thanks in advance!

Don’t miss the Golden Band marching in the stadium with the team behind just before the game or maybe 45 minutes before kickoff. There’s a huge turnout. It’s right next to the tiger cage in front of the PMAC so kill 2 birds there getting to see our mascot.
Maybe stop by Fred’s in Tigerland Fridaynight and get Jäegermeister poured in your mouth straight from the bottle when they play AC/DC “thunderstruck”.
There are too many good restaurants to list but the Chimes and Walk Ons have great food and even better atmosphere. I prefer Walk Ons.

Ok I’m sure others can add to this…..

For this thread the LSU campus map should come in handy.

Wear your Iowa gear on game day and you’ll be pulled into many tailgates and won’t have to worry about paying for food or cocktails on Gameday.

Parrains for lunch on Friday would be a good choice IMO and as stated earlier...either The Chimes or Walk-Ons for dinner that night.

If you can, get up early on Saturday morning and hit Louie’s Cafe for breakfast.

Good chance you’ll get a night game as well. That is the CBS doubleheader weekend...likely SEC schedule is Auburn/UGA at 2:30 on CBS and Bama/A&M will be the prime time CBS telecast(7:00pm). LSU/UT should be the ESPN evening game(5pm-8pm window).

Definitely wear your Iowa gear, go early and get the biggest size daiquiri at a place near campus (add an extra shot) and begin walking around campus. The daiquiri will get you going and keep you cool as you walk around.

Then just don’t be shy, walk up to a fun looking tailgate and say you are visiting and ask what they are cooking, if they feed you say it’s the best (blank) you’ve ever had and just hang out. Then just bounce around the rest of the afternoon, go see Mike the Tiger, watch the band and team go down the hill, then take your seat

Post your email and I’ll send you a more detailed breakdown, I hosted some friends from Iowa on a NOLA/BR trip a few years back

As others are stating, wear Iowa gear. It’s a talking point. Get inside of the stadium at least 30 minutes prior to kickoff to allow for time to get settled in your seat and to catch the pregame March then see the team run out of the tunnel. It’s a spectacle.

Iowa is a Big10 team that I always liked. The wave tradition was cherry on top. Y’all will enjoy the visit. It’s a good time for anyone who is a fan of the sport and all of the traditions that come with it.

As others have said, wear your Iowa gear and you’ll be invited in. You won’t go hungry or thirsty.
There will be a time line posted a couple days before the game on when 5he team and band will March down the hill.
Drago’s for dinner Friday night.
Early October…weather should be great. Plan on shorts
