Baton Rouge—City Pork, Elsie’s Plate and Pie, Burgersmith, Beausoleil Coastal Seafood, Rocco’s Pizzeria are all excellent restaurants.

NOLA—High Hat, Palladar 511, Dat Dog, Cafe Amelie, Cochon Butcher, Gris-gris, Sobou, Mr Ed’s Oyster Bar, Peche, Jacques-Imos

Give us an idea where the Airbnb is because any street named after a President or tiger town isn’t the best area to stay.

We went to Couchon Butcher during a trip in July and they had the best mufaletta I’ve ever eaten. Great all around.

If you are looking for a great breakfast or brunch in NOLA, give Ruby Slipper a shot. Damn it’s good.

First off, on campus, wear your Iowa gear. People will welcome you likely.

Louisiana Lagniappe for dinner Friday night. Menu available online. Reservations now available too. Expensive but will be the best seafood and Louisiana seafood experience in town.

If you can get out around campus early on Saturday, Chimes will be great. They have a rooftop deck to get some drinks and it will be full. Also a good appetizer place for lunch. Assuming it's a night game. Otherwise get a good breakfast away from campus and ride in early. The nicer tailgates on South Stadium may have bartenders at tailgates that will serve you with a nice tip given.

Uber will be nearly impossible after the game as there is contraflow. If you have ant BR contacts, ask if they will do a favor and give you a pickup. You'll have to Google the contra flow map and probably hike a good ways. Nearby places include Modesto, WalkOns for after game drinks and food if you need a place to kill time until traffic dies.

Getting excited for this game!

Almost seems to be a lock for a night game regardless of what happens this weekend.

Gonna be a scorcher!

Staying near the 600 block on Saint Louis St. Is this walkable pregame? May schedule an uber bit mainly wondering about safety etc. (Plan to bar hop after til traffic does down some and then Uber)

Sounds like there is a lot of nightlife near our place for Friday night. Walkable

Planning to get to the tailgating areas by 8 at the latest.

Seats are section 412 around low 20's for row. Appears to me that we will likely be facing the sun most of the afternoon.
