I am not a pumper.
I think our offense has been predicable and underperforms.
Ala . will give us the opportunity to complete passes, especially deep and over the middle, if we can show some new routes, new formations or something unpredictable, especailly on first down.
We must, of course, pass block, particualrly if we continue to avoiid play action as if it were an awful affliction.

We're not going to score. It's impossible. The only way we win is if everyone on Bama's team (including Saban) catch the flu simultaneously. What we should all do is find the nearest Bama fan, sell him our tickets at below face value, offer him beer, food and our virgins as sacrifice in the desperate hopes that we will be spared the coming destruction of our beloved Tigers.

In fact, I think it'd be safer if we all just stayed home, drank a bottle of Jack, ate an entire script of Xanax and slit our wrists in the tub... You go first.

our solid running attack? against 8 and 9 man fronts? really?

That's how most teams who have beaten Alabama have had success.

our passing attack? really? seen that work so well in SEC play?

We need to improve, certainly, but our passing game has been better at home this year.

quote:

deep passes? 5 yards over receivers heads. yep, that should work

short passes? with out WRs awesome hands, this should work well too

tight ends? wait, we still have those? i'd like to meet them.

sell me, Pumpers. I need something to hold on to with this offense. I don't see much positive.

So by thinking we have a chance to have some success on offense makes one a sunshine pumper. Our drops have improved, the over throw were 1 game, and we've beaten Bama with little help from the tight ends before. There you go is that enough sunshine pumping for you.

Also, hopefully we can score some with help from our defense.

The go-long plays where Mett over throws our open receiver by 10 yards...Our QB coach Stewart Kragthrob needs to tell Mett to throw it 10 yards shorter and boom, we hang 38 on Bama.

How'd we score in 2010? How did a historically bad LSU defense with a turnover prone JL take them into OT 2 years before that?

sorry if I'm a pumper for thinking a talented top 5 team can stand on the same field as Bama in primetime on our field. I know its fricking crazzzzzy

Short fields will be the likely scenario. Our defense and special teams are more than capable of providing the offense a short field.

We have also run the ball effectively against Alabama in the past with a very similar offense and against defenses every bit as good as the one we will see Saturday.

I think LSU rushes for 170+ and wins the turnover battle +2.

LSU 13
Bama 6

As far as how we score, I would imagine it is on a busted play. I know LSU is going to run the ball against 8 and 9 man fronts, so I am prepared for that, but I expect us to be conditioned enough and talented enough to wear them down in the second half and bust one late.

P.S.: I find that I have had a much better Monday than most of the Rant simply by viewing the upcoming game positively. I don't understand the mindset that you have where you worry yourself and frustrate yourself for 13 days over a game that has yet to happen, much less one where you have no control.

Truth be told, those are legit questions....but I'm a believer that Death Valley is where "opponents dreams come to die".

So regardless of how the offense has or has not played up to this point doesn't matter to me, I'm all in!!!

LSU - 23
Bama - 22

There will be no satisfactory answer because you have already made your mind up that we'll lose. I'm not sure if this hopeless negativism is a defense mechanism that you have fashioned so that you won't ever have to be disappointed, or if you're just an a-hole.

Time will tell.

FYI, Bama had busted coverages in both of our games last season as well. Got to capitalize when the opportunities present themselves.

Also, this is the first time i can remember we were coming off of a bye and they weren't. 08', 10', and 11' i think both teams were. In 09' they were and we weren't IIRC.
