we beat bama with a balanced offense that can score inside the redzone

We definitely need to improve in the redzone, but you beat Alabama with the run game.

The last 4 teams to beat Alabama:

2010 USCe 37 rushes, 20 passes
2010 LSU 45 rushes, 20 passes
2010 Auburn 41 rushes, 20 passes
2011 LSU 41 rushes, 17 passes

Since 2009, Alabama is .500 in true road games against teams that finished in the BCS top 25.

They aren't unbeatable, and if we can complete some timely passes downfield and have success running the ball then we have a good chance at beating them.

I'm of the opinion that our offense is much better at home and is capabale of having success against Alabama.

you're the delusional one if you see no scenario with LSU winning

no there is a scenario: If can run to the outside with success I think we have a chance b.c their ends are their weak link.. Sooner or later Mett will have to throw a pass and if we can play to his strengths with short routes to the outside, I think we can have a chance. Bama will have to make a few mistakes. I confident our defense can cause McCarron fits, but we are going against by far the best o-line in CFB. should be an interesting matchup.

Not wasting my time trying to converse with people who want to crap on our team.

Don't use "we". If you don't have faith that LSU can win a night game in BR then gtfo. You aren't a fan.

Some of us try to use data available. We have seen the shortcomings of this LSU team. Alabama on the other hand, doesn't seem to have those shortcomings. They have handled every opponent comfortably. Can one not make a rational conclusion based on the data? I pray like hell a miracle happens and the Tigers get victory, but with what we have witnessed thus far this year by both teams, it is a reasonable conclusion to believe that Alabama is ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation and for a good reason. I don't understand why it has become so personal with so many, but it's obvious that it has. Sometimes, you're just not the best team. That my friend is life.

How can anyone be optimistic about our offense heading into Saturday? Our pass-blocking is weak. Our WRs are weak. Our QB is weak. Our play-calling is weak. I don't understand how anyone can be encouraged by what they've seen from LSU's offense this season.

I'm going to go with the same way we scored against USC, who had "one of the best DL's in the nation". Dick.

Who said Bama isn't good? I sure as hell didn't. I certainly didn't say we are going to crush them or that they suck or are inferior in any way.

I simply just don't understand the complete lack of confidence in the fan base that LSU can be competitive in this football game. Look at last year. We steam rolled everyone, yet when we went to Bama the final was still only 9-6.

I'm not taking it personal, I just personally think its crazy that our own fan base thinks we will "need a mircale" to win this game. Maybe if you listen to ESPN we will need a miracle to win, but according to them so did ND - and they beat the crap out of OU.

I know Bama is frickin good. However, I also know LSU is frickin good. We have one of the top 3 defenses in the country and for good reason. Bama has better balance in their offense, sure, but does that mean that our defense can't prevent them from scoring? Games like this more often than not simply come down to a big play or two. Our defense is more than capable of making a couple of big plays and putting our offense in good position. The stadium will be going nuts and the players will feed off of it during the game. Will it be enough? Maybe - Maybe not, but we won't know until Saturday night.

Maybe it will be a Cedric Donaldson pick 6.

Or an overtime pass to Robert Royal.

Or a Matt Mauck QB draw.

Or a pick six by Corey Webster.

Or a Hail Mary to Devery Henderson.

Or a third down pass to Skyler Green.

Or an 87 yard run by Justin Vincent.

Or a blocked FG returned by Mario Stevenson.

Or a blocked punt returned by Craig Steltz.

Or a kickoff return by Trindon Holliday.

Or a fake FG run in by Colt David.

Or Jacob Hester after a couple of 4th down conversions.

Or Demetrius Byrd with one second left.

Or a Jonathon Zenon pick six.

Or a punt return by Chad Jones.

Or a little run to set up a FG by Charles Scott.

Or a fade from Lee to Terrance Tolliver.

Or a punt return by Tyran Mathieu.

Or a breakaway run by Jeremy Hill.

Or a diving catch by Kadron Boone.

No one ever knows how we're going to score in big games until it happens. Then it happens, and its awesome.

Not sure exactly when it happened, but our fanbase has turned into a bunch of whiny pussies who seem to be under the impression that the Tiger Stadium goalposts are originals.

You can call me a pumper all you want. We score:
- Mett connects on long pass(s)to Jarvis and/or OBJ
- M. Ford end around run to the endzone
- Jeremy Hill or Copeland bust through the line and won't stop until they cross the goal line.
- 2 or three field goals.
Not sure of all the combinations, but we need 21 or 24 to win!

I don't ever recall saying that you did say Bama isn't good. Never said anything about "crush them" or "that they suck" either.

The lack of confidence comes from seeing the offensive struggles. I believe the comments come out of frustration on how poorly the offense has looked. Your comments are correct about last year. Personally, I don't put much weight on what happened "last year" (or the MNC, for that matter) Honestly, I don't need ESPN, nor anyone else to tell me shite. I've played the game. I've watched the game for over 30 years. It's really not that hard. LSU is a good team, no question. Bama is a very good team. Have you watched them play? Do you see their constant execution? Do you see how well they control both lines of scrimmage? Do you see how well their QB delivers the ball and their receivers catch the ball? Do I think this LSU football team can play to the same level? Absolutely, I do, but that has not been done consistently as Bama has done. That's why I (can't speak for others) see it like I do. You can bet your arse of one thing. I will be screaming and yelling and pulling for the Tigers the entire game and you're exactly right, we won't know until Saturday night.
